Its working. I had the same concerns. It seems there would have to be side effects for something powerful enough to get rid of HCV, but, for many, there are none. Your virus guests are feeling the pain about now.

I never met Gaj, but I know him well. A more unselfish person would be hard to find. Gaj helped many, many people through a very difficult time in their lives with his knowledge, advice and compassionate words, all the while fighting an illness that would eventually take this fine man from this existence and into the next.

Hi,
I have been drinking moderately and daily since my tx ended two years ago. I just got the results from my latest physical. ALT: 15, AST: 13. Every single blood test came back absolutely normal. I just drink beer and not enough to get a hangover-EVER! My original biopsy indicated F-1. My fibrosure came back F 1-2.
So, from my purely anecdotal evidence, I would say moderate alcohol intake is acceptable, IF your liver damage is slight.

I was able to speak with Guy one last time late last week. He will be missed. He was a tireless advocate for the sick, all the while being sicker than most of the people he was helping. His wonderful laugh and seemingly boundless optimism disguised his own dire situation to most of the people he advised and helped. People from all over the world-myself included-benefitted from his compassion and understanding.
I hoped to have a chance to meet him in person, but it wasn’t meant to be.
He made a difference.
The world is a lesser place with his passing.
Guy’s suffering is over.

There comes a point where politics can’t be ignored. We, here in the US, are well beyond that point. No longer is “politics” something that can be relegated to a forum topic deemed simply “political”. Placing blame on past administrations is irrelevant. That’s done. Get your generics while you can. The current administration in the US is not focused on the welfare of the populace. It’s all about lobbyists and big tax breaks for the wealthy.
This is all that matters. Nothing can be taken for granted. Get the medicine and get well.
