Hello Everyone,
Got the viral load test results back today and it is undetectable. Obviously that’s a huge relief but now I’ve got to find out why 2 glasses of wine give me a hangover, so off to see my GP again next week……
Thanks to all for your support,
RSF

Hello All,
Well now I’m not so sure and neither is my GP: Tried 2 glasses of wine again about 10 days ago – result was a nasty hangover. This is how it all started for me a couple of years ago – made me aware that I had a problem.
Anyway, I had a viral load test last Wednesday and the results are not back yet. They usually take 10 days to 2 weeks. So it is an anxious time again.
Thanks to you all for all the good wishes.

Hello all,
False alarm! Got my LFT’s back today and they’re fine. I still don’t understand the hangovers but suppose the rest was attributable to anxiety.
Mightily relieved and thankful for all the support and encouragement.
In my next incarnation I WILL NOT BE A DRAMA QUEEN.

Hi Sven and Coral,
I am actually not feeling very well – pains around the lower ribs on the right and waking with slight nausea – I suppose it could all relate to anxiety and certainly hope so but I’ll get the LFT results next week and all will be revealed.
Thanks both for your support and good wishes,
RSF

Hi Jorge,
Looking back over this thread I’ve just realised that no one has responded to you, and hope that by now you’re feeling a good deal better.
There are ups and downs in the treatment process for most people. In some cases this is directly related to your body’s response to the drugs, as must be obvious, but in others it can be related to your psychological state. You don’t need me to tell you that being diagnosed with hepc is a huge shock for most of us and there’s a lot of grief and emotional upset, together with anxiety, that goes along with it. It is well known that the disease is strongly associated with anxiety and depression. Being in the process of treatment doesn’t always make you feel good either because there is hope, fear, uncertainty and often more mixed in with all the emotions you had in the first place which is a very potent cocktail.
I am not surprised you were feeling confused!
You will almost certainly be fine, however. Just look at the statistics and that should cheer you up – most people treated with DAA’s are cured of hepc and this applies to GT3’s too.
All the best,
RSF

Hello Boo,
If you’re asking about your son, you must have been finding life very hard. Even if the 15yo isn’t yours, you must care a lot to be making the enquiry. I am really sorry to learn about your trouble and his. Hepc is truly nasty and the NHS does not always deal with patients suffering with it well. We all know the NHS is hampered by lack of funds and the professionals in it operate in a difficult environment for that and other reasons, though most do their best. All this can upset patients and their loved ones, causing huge pain, frustration and feelings of helplessness. I speak as one who knows and wishes he didn’t!
I followed the link Dr F gives in his response to you and it made me feel much more optimistic, as I had the feeling it would before I clicked on it. I hope and trust it has had that effect on you.
You have probably already realised what a good man James Freeman is and have some idea of what he and his supporters have managed to achieve. You may not quite believe that what you’ve found is real, but it is. I may not have felt well enough to write this post early on a Sunday morning without the treatment FHC made possible, but actually I’m pretty good, and so are lots of other people whose stories you can find here. They are a very warm and supportive group and have done a lot for me, just as they will for you.
All the best to both of you,
RSF
