I’m with you Tommy if Fiber scans are so accurate how can you explain so many
patients going from examples of F3 too F2 within months often without treatment.

I would think its down to a fiber scan is a much simpler procedure as opposed to a biopsy I believe
the offer of treatment on your fiber scan is a crude method to use.

I would love to know the answers, if you depend on a Fiber Scan for treatment you could be
    waiting for ever.

I don’t know of any correlation between hair loss and Hep C I could be wrong.

I’ve had some hair loss over the last few years, having read about hair loss it seems to be down
to how hair loss in men in general comes about. As a rule if your Grandfather on your Mums
side has hair loss or go’s bald ,if you’re a guy there is a great chance you will too.

What I have noticed is my hair feels like shit its very dry as is my skin, I’ve changed products(Used to use Aveda)
I think these symptoms could be Hep C related.

    I had a fiber scan in May 2015 I was 9.9 and a F3 I started treatment Oct 29 for 12 weeks
I had a Fiber scan last week it was 7.4.

The consultant said the last reading probably had some inflammation this reading was
accurate. Same guy also said the margins can change over time from F3 -F2-F4……..

In your case, you had one done a long time ago, I don’t think its odd you have no come back with
a lower score you state you changed how you lived your life I would assume it helped to keep
    your liver in decent condition.

Yes, I think its very feasible your live healed some what in the time period your describe.

Good news all round for you.

Sure, absolutely Generics would be way less then brand names I wasn’t sure what he
was suggesting you cleared it up nicely.

No doubt,if every country spent on Generics everyone would be treated for far less then is being spent,
then you also have cancer drugs the same could be applied too them.

if your assumption is correct, at 3/4 k per treatment its the lowest prices any rich country has
manage to negotiate that I am aware of which is amazing.

I guess, my over all feeling is if the pricing is around 2/3/4 K per treatment its a fantastic result for you
guys, I would hope it means the rest of the world starts to think about trying to lower what they pay.

Its obvious it can be done.

“Yes isaing4 we are lucky in that sense in Australia, but a very expensive waste of money which could be going elsewhere if we chose to use generics. Politics ARGH,,,, I hope also some governments overseas will decide to open the back door also and let in the the generics from the Beacons, Inceptas and Natcos etc, we can dream perhaps,,,”

Jimmy, do you mean if we choose Not to use generics surely you’d save money bu using them.

    Can someone explain this to me;

I think its being suggested Australia is paying very little per treatment once they spend a X hundred million per
year then the manufacturers kick in and give it free. Am I right.

It sounds like a great deal for you guys, I would think like others its down to The revolution started with generics!

Personally, from my own experience ( How I felt) I think the feeling of euphoria is
simply you reacting to starting treatment I don’t think its the drugs per se.

I mean, you’ve waited years you feared you may die, its only natural you’ll release all types of
endorphin’s leaving you slightly elated in my case it all settled down quickly.

No doubt I feel better then when I started.

Note; I know Riba is completely different I know it has some serious side effects,I’m talking about sob/dac/led.

I first noticed Id tinnitus last year I have same symptoms as you LG.

My GP thought the flu caused some drainage into my middle ear I also went to the
eye an ear hospital they saw no problems with my ears or sinus.

Last year before treatment, I was constantly getting the flu, prior to that I rarely caught
flu’s since treatment I’ve had no flu symptoms.

Its certainly not got better with treatment if anything its slightly worse am gonna see a
    consultant about this……

Al, I am in full agreement with how he looked up too a 2014 I thought like you he
looked so well hence the absolute shock at his death.

I honestly have no clue if he had Hep C its only when you said liver cancer and suggested Hep
C I thought about the link, I don’t think he was a IV user.

Lastly, I don’t think he had to tell anyone about his health regardless of the cause, I saw on another
forum trying to link him to some awful shit none of which i think is true, sadly these days people don’t respect
the dead. I don’t mean you Al I understand your point.

    Yes, to celebrating his life:)

I took nexium all the way through treatment when ever I felt like it I don’t recall anyone saying
it had to be taken at the same time it had no impact on my outcome.

Any research I have seen suggests there is no contradiction between them at least none I am
    aware of.

This an interesting topic I think K’s comments about compliance makes a lot of sense too me.

I think at least 50% and more have no real understanding of the disease the rest believe they will be treated
by the Dr’s treating them before they get ill the latter is something hard to deal with.

There is also a group who won’t/cant pay for treatment the whole subject has quite a few variables.

I was told this week Ireland had treated all F4 and above they know of in the last year take in account
the total spend was 36 million at about 60k per person,it looks like less then 1k patients they are now trying to lower
the score(12) to get in the pool.

I wonder, how many f4 are infected they don’t know of or if any other countries will have similar results in the first year
what does it mean for f3/2/1/0 in terms of early intervention.

Sorry if I went of topic.

As Bowie had more or less removed himself from the public eye most of the pictures
I thought circa before his death circa 2013 he looked he’d aged well hence the shock we
    all felt when he died.

Yes, I agree LG the last video is some what haunting, there is no doubt he looked rather sick
everything I’ve read suggested he was working right up to his death.

Personally, I think Bowie’s best work seemed was in the past, latest album not with standing
The US period Young Americans-Berlin Low/heroes/Lodger followed by Scary Monsters were in
my opinion his best work ,Lets Dance was massive.

He was super smart business wise,he had his own ISP sold his the rights for X amount for X years
he saw what the music business would be long before anyone else.

    Genius.

Yep, Bowie was actually insane before he left the US if you watch the interview on
the Dick Cavet show before he left the US its clear he was out of his mind I don’t
believe he was a IV drug user.

No, I don’t think Bowie had Hep C if he did I can see why he’d say nothing the man was not someone who
wanted to share that part of his life with the public.

Bowie stopped using prior to Berlin and yes Low and the three albums in that followed
all came about as he stopped using.

He got into AA around the 80’s he was clean for at least 30 years or more.

I met Iggy a few times in Ireland in the late 90’s he looked as well as someone like him can:)

Dan, have you shared with Dr treating you that you are in fact taking medication
    for Hep C?

I emailed monk med and have had replies in a very timely fashion if you’re planning on continuing
treatment with them as your provider you have to go through their process.

Apologies if I have both wrong.
