Maybe we should ask the Oxford English dictionary to add a new definition for “redemption”:
REDEMPTION: noun
1. The action of being saved from sin or evil:
“God’s plans for the redemption of his world”2. The action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt:
“the peasants found the terms of redemption unattractive”3. The action of achieving a sustained virologic response (aviremia) after completing antiviral therapy for hepatitis C virus:
“she took a generic direct acting anti-viral treatment and achieved redemption”
