Hi,

Thank s alot for all your advices and information.

My doctor called me few days ago and he told me we can start with Harvoni or Sov/ Dak
He informed me about clinical trial which has made in Egypt ( as Dr Freeman said before ) but he is still thinking for Harvoni because for now Harvoni's trial history is more accepted in medicine sector. My english is not perfect hope ı can explain clearly. Also he told me it is possible to fiish treatment in 8 weeks if we go with Sov/Dak
I am sure about I will go with sov/dak .
Thank you again all yours support and replys to my comments.
Cheers.

Hi Kaju,

On the basis of what you've said previously sof/dac is probably going to be best for you but a 12 week course of treatment would be preferable. 8 weeks may well work for you but statistically a 12 week period carries an improved chance of cure.

If your doctor will only give you an eight week course, because of his budget, you may want to consider contacting Fixhepc and asking if they could just get you enough for the last 4 weeks.

I know English is not your first language, so if you don't understand please say you don't.
All best wishes,
RSF

I kept a journal during my 12 week treatment with Harvoni. On the 16th day I experienced some dizziness. It passed after a few days. I also experienced a few headaches.
Drink plenty of water. I went for a walk every evening. It helped me sleep. I drank 2 cups of coffee a day. One after breakfast and one in the afternoon. I have never heard anything about eating artichokes during treatment.

Congratulations Kaju on starting your treatment, Harvoni is a really excellent medication for GT4. As for diet during treatment, you should eat a normal varied diet. As a general rule, provided you don't eat the same thing every single day, you are unlikely to run into any issues. Just be careful to not take antacids with Harvoni® or Epclusa® generics.

I kept a journal in which I recorded side effects and how I was feeling each day during the 84 days of treatment. I have referred back to it many times.

Sometimes when I had trouble sleeping I re-watched this video about G4 treatments. G4 is very sensitive to DDA.

Hi kaju,

It's great news that your meds are on their way. I remember being really impatient to get them and start treatment. It's a bit of a mantra but drinking lots of water, eating healthy and well, exercising and being a bit kinder to ourselves certainly helped me.

Good luck. May the postie deliver your precious cargo very soon.

If you get your meds next week then you should finish treatment by mid June. I experienced a bit of dizziness and lightheadedness on my 16 and 17 day of treatment per my journal. That faded in a few days. The last 30 days of treatment went quite smoothly.
Traveling with medication is a question I can't answer.

Hi Kaju, as Beahavan mentioned, for most people, side effects in the last month of treatment aren't usually an issue. Regarding traveling with generic medications, which country are you traveling to? Traveling with just 1 bottle is not a problem in a lot of countries, especially if you have a prescription with you.

The treatment is unlikely to make you unwell so you could start now without a high probability of having any issues.

The only way to have a 100% probability is to start after your trip but chances are treatment will make you feel better rather than worse.
YMMV

Beahavan you are right,

I guess I will receive my meds in 10days. I hope ...
Trip date is middle of June , I will be in end of treatment and I will stay just 1 week. Maybe I can put them in suitcase with presciription and there will be no problem. Maybe they will not check ..In my old travels sometimes I put painkiller and havent got any trouble with that before. I will go Netherlands.
I dont want to wait for 3 months more , because if I do that , it will be totally 6 months delay for complete the treatment.
Thank you guys.. I am very excited and cant wait for start.

Hi Kaju, you're allowed to bring your medication with you into the Netherlands if you have your prescription according to the Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration website www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/b...medicines1/medicines
