Finally got to see the doc last Friday,
I had my 12 weeks post treatment bloods pulled at the end of August but the wait was due to my having an unexpected work commitment on the date of my original appintment.
The HepC nurse told me my results by email, but it was good to get a hard copy of everything. She said I could get retested in 6 months or so but she didn't see the need and neither do I.
I'll get my liver functions tested every year as part of a general health check and if anything looks strange I'll gt it checked.
I feel like the effects of coming off the treatment have truly gone and that's pretty cool.
A couple of observations:
The doc thought I was pretty healthy prior to starting Tx. That was probably because I generally presented that way, plus she knows I have a fairly active lifestyle. I explained that I really didn't know that I was unwell until I got well.
It probably took 2 months to feel normal after EOT. Atter I'd finished it my resting HR went up by about 10 BPM, but now it's back to normal. That was the most noticeable thing.
I feel very lucky. Lucky that I managed to hang in until these drugs became available, and lucky that I have come into contact with this awesome, diverse, global tribe. I hope that everyone has the easy time and success with the treatment that I have had.
