I just used skype Chejai,I had gp2u running in a browser, and skype running in another window, whilst I was in virtual waiting room running in browser. skype would have been sufficient for the consultation with Doc James. Got script and instructions emailed shortly afterward from gp2u. I found the process was very simple. I did test my skype connection with a friend before the appointment though to be sure it worked ok. At appointment time Doc just came through on skype. Good luck.
3 years cured, Sof/Dac, thanks Doc Freeman, hepc only a distant memory, go for it ppl

Chejai wrote: Thanks everyone for your support. Ok the iPad app might be different to Android.
GAJ: there is no Full Site Button, no GP2U Home page. Just opens to Patient Home Page with My Appointment, Prescriptions, Go To Waiting Room,Questionnaire(for personal info) Tools(nothing there), Contact Us and Sign Out.
So, give up on iOS app.

So, I setup webcam on PC, downloaded Chrome webRTC extension. Have no idea what to do from there until I go to Virtual Waiting Room tomorrow.
Zhuk, you used Chrome webRTC didn't you? Is there anything I need to know about set up?

All I did was log into the waiting room (as GAJ said) didn't download anything but chrome browser. Then just click on the 'allow webcam' setup. Although I had an appt by that stage, just jumped onto the waiting room now and all that's available is a bunch of newspapers etc lol

You might have to wait until you get an appt time with the doc to see it. Someone else might be able to confirm that.

I'm thinking that maybe because Chejai already has an appointment for this morning, the app sees that and gets ready to launch and she just needs to go into the virtual waiting room at the right time and it will all work. If Rusty or someone who has used the iApp could confirm that I'm sure it would be useful for others in the future.

Well it's done!!!! :cheer: :cheer:
After using the chrome, webRTC, sitting in Virtual Waiting Room, seeing myself on screen and hearing myself and noises in the house, appointment time came and went and was ticking over and nothing happening. I rang and the Doc called me he said the connection was bad because he could see me in slow motion:)

Thought it was because my son was watching YouTube on his iPad but turned out it was Telstra's pathetic connection at 0.75 Mbps!! Curse you Telstra *******
So we did it by phone, he's great and was teasing me at the end because I couldn't find the 'Files' button to download my pdf's. There were too many options on the screen and he said I was doing a 'Man View' :)

Scary transferring all that money over like that...bank account looks sad now:((

So, guess who called me before my appointment?? The hospital Hep Nurse! She said she spoke with the Specialist Friday and he kept 'umming and ahhhing' but said he would write script at my Review next April 2016. I told her it didn't matter I was going through Dr Freeman. She actually let out a great sigh of relief and said, 'Good for you! that's a great idea. What can we do to help though? You want me to get you in earlier for some monitoring?' So we agreed that when i get my meds and tx start, let her know and she'll get me in for probably 8 wk check. Now I just have to find out if my GP is still not scared off...

So, now off for some blood tests.
I feel excited but nervous and nauseous all at the same time :S

Great stuff, Chejai! The ball is finally rolling for you now, awesome news. Very promising too that the clinic up there will monitor you...and I think the nurse was possibly relieved of the political decision of script-writing at this point lol

And I agree with you...Dr James is a great, friendly guy. Full of the humanity and compassion so lacking in others who call themselves doctors. Everyone afflicted with the virus is fortunate to have such a champion on our side.

Absolutely Zhuk, very lucky to have such a fabulous advocate!
Yeah, I was actually surprised at how 'excited and encouraging' the Hep nurse was in response. Definitely, glad to help but not have to deal with the 'script red tape'.
So, Doc suggests I need 16 weeks tx for best results. Anyone else doing that on Sof/Dac?
Obviously we can only import 12 weeks script at a time and mine says '1 repeat', does this mean people end up with buying another 12 weeks worth but only using 1/3?
Trying to get my 'foggy' head around that!

No, I think any source will be able to sell you just what you need.

All the Indian manufacturers sell in 28 pill bottles. The Bangladeshi manufacturers sell in either 28 pill bottles or in packets of 4, 6, or 8 pills depending on medication and manufacturer, so you might end up buying 2-4 extra pills. And the Compounding Pharmacies will make whatever quantity you need.

I'm doing 18 weeks Sof and Dac and 6 on Riba which is just for a bit of insurance though I hate it :) I split my 2nd course of meds with another member who needed same deal.

cheers
