Well it took longer than some and shorter than others but I had a phone call today from Dr James to say that I am SVR12. Yay!

For me this started with a newspaper cutting from a friend about Dr Freeman and FixHepC in September 2015. After a Skype appointment with Dr Freeman at GP2U (easiest thing ever) I ordered the medication through FixHepC and started treatment a few short weeks later on 12/11/15. My virus fought harder than most and after 12 weeks of Sof/Led I continued with another 12 weeks of Sof/Dac. And still it hung on……

After relapsing at around the 8th week after EOT I recommenced treatment with the Viekira Pak, Solvadi, Ribavirin on 3/9/16. The Ribavirin made things a little tougher (I’d had minimal side effects on the other medications) but it did a fine job. I was just unlucky as it is only a very small percentage of people that do relapse.

I know that some people think that the low cost generic medication is too good to be true but I have seen so many people on this site that have been cured by taking a few simple steps. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I’m happy for you to private message me if you have any questions or concerns.

The support from Dr Freeman, FixhepC, Monkmed and everyone on this forum has been nothing short of amazing. Next stop SVR24.

I’m waiting for my little group of relapse friends to catch up… #flower #flower

Coral! How did I miss this thread, and your wonderful news. I have been so looking forward to seeing this- you are so consistently kind, and realistic, you really toughed it out. I ‘m sure it wasn’t always like that, but you took both stages in your stride, another kindness to share with others coming behind, #magic #magic

I have a short list, and you were on it, that I’m waiting on hearing good SVR 12 news for- and had one ticked off last week, and another earlier today…. FixhepC slays all dragons. Hooray.

It is lovely to see people who missed out first time round not draw a short straw the second time.

    Most people succeed first time.

Sadly a few don’t but as we can see here, and elsewhere, yes it’s a setback, but SVR is still out there and we just have to work a little harder to get there.

Triple drug therapy with an NS3/4A, NS5A and NS5B is the way to go if you can get it.

Adding generic Sofosbuvir to Viekira and Zepatier is the simplest solution where these are available.

Relatively affordable Abbvie Viekira can be sourced out of Egypt if required.

Extended treatment with Sof+Vel+Ribavirin is probably the next best option, but it needs to be done on a case by case basis.

    Hi Hazel,

Thanks so much for your wonderful words. They mean a lot to me. Your advocacy for Hep C is such an inspiration and now that I’ve just about won the battle you encourage me to step out and make a real contribution. The old stigma of it all worries me less and less as the days go by. Coral #love

Hey Gaj, Lynne, RHF, Greedfighter and Sven,

Thanks for your messages. I have said it before but let me say it again – what a lonely and difficult journey it would have been without you all. #love
