Continuing the Australian theme. And I somehow rather fancy that I’d like to change with Clancy.

8 March 2016 at 10:12 am #13504Aussie music lovers will be no doubt gutted that Ross Hanaford lost his battle with cancer this morning
We were on an Aussie theme here. Continuing it with sad news but a fantastic track. In the more recent years Ross could be seen busking around inner Melbourne and made appearances at the Caravan Club a popular venue with music freaks like myself.
Daddy Cool was an early Australian rock band who pushed the boundaries and played at the breakout Sunbury Festival, similar to a Woodstock event
He joins fellow pioneers upstairs now that we have recently said goodbye to, Jim Keays, Stevie Wright to name a couple.
This is one of my two fave Daddy Cool tracks

Australians today mourn another songman, who made his name in Musical Theatre.
Media reports today that Australian performer Jon English has died, aged 66, due to complications. His former manager Peter Rix said he died after what was supposed to be a routine operation.
“They discovered problems with aorta valves, a lot of bleeding was involved,” Rix said.
I met Jon, he was as quiet in life as loud on stage.
Two stand outs for me here, and he had a rock profile as well as this taste of his talent for musical theatre I post.
He was also well loved on TV. Vale Jon.11 March 2016 at 3:53 am #13647vale Jon English, George Martin
