Gilead, one of the ugliest and greediest company’s known in the entire world!! Luckily for many of us there are company’s who are making generics and there are plenty of people and doctors who see that treating people who cant afford Gilead’s price tag as an unfair practice and do what they can to balance the scales. I salute GP2U and fix HepC buyers club for all the assistance they have given and continue to give to the world of HepC and patients in need. With that said, I started this thread to post pictures or drawings of company’s like Gilead, in other words what visual comes up when you think of a greedy company?? Post what you want, all I ask is that you keep it real. Here’s my little pic! Actually, I have two pics, but I’ll post the other one later!! ~Cheers!! :cheer:

    The Greediad motto:
“We will trade your life for your life savings, first born and left nut” (if you have a pair) If not, I suppose a left boob would do…

I hope one of our Senators or State legislators writes something up to keep companies from over charging for drugs the way Gilead has. Australia came out of it pretty good and got Gilead to lower their prices substantially. Of course location is everything and Qz is in a good part of the world to take advantage of the generics being made. Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone in the US will be able to do anything about it, at least not anytime soon and more lives will be lost and Gilead will keep counting their profits all the way to the bank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That little freakazoid down there is the way I think Gilead looks. How about you, any pics?

It’s back up now Lynne. A sickening read really.

Gilead keeps Martin’s pay at $18.8M in last year as CEO.

Gilead Sciences CEO John Martin isn’t strapped for cash. The exec has added about $18 million in annual compensation each year to his coffers, not to mention hundreds of millions in stock gains since he came on board in 2009. This year wasn’t any different. Martin took home a hefty pay package as the company’s hep C franchise kept delivering the cash–even though it lost some momentum in the U.S. at the same time.

Gilead is a hedge fund under the guise of a pharmaceutical company. They want drugs that will treat diseases that are problems in wealthy, industrialized nations. Don’t look for them to come up with a cure for malaria, ebola or Zika-there is just not enough money in it for them to be interested.
They will continue to tend the geese that lay the golden eggs until, like Australia, they are forced to “make the deal”. Then they will cook and eat them.
In the U.S., insurers are relaxing restrictions because of legal pressure brought about by patients over denial of treatment. This will force substantial rises in the cost of health insurance for everyone, with Gilead getting the money. Health insurance companies don’t go broke. They have reserve funds, and when they have to tap into them one year, they raise the premiums the next to cover the shortfall.
Widespread acceptance of affordable generics is the only way Greediad will have its hand forced.
We are in a high stakes poker game here. The insurance companies are the “house”. Gilead, the well-funded, card-counting professional gambler.
    We are the chips.

I remember back in the nineteen seventies when we were all growing up, “Career of Evil” was just a dark song on a concept album with cool guitar riffs:

    So much for progress?

I’ve asked my lecturer to explain to me why their corporate conduct does not constitute murder. And how can their objective, of maximum profit for shareholders, be lawful if deaths result from their decisions. Crime is an act or omission. Because paying yourself so much, like Martin, is hardly maximising profits to (other) shareholders, it’s unreasonable. The objective’s not being upheld in that respect; how can it be a justification in pricing. Plus, there was another way to achieve the same profit- cure much more people for much less, same revenue- but they have meeting records that seem to show they thought the inevitable deaths, from their pricing strategy decisions, are commercially useful.

They can do it because of the TRUE golden rule…
