    Dear All,

Am founder of MonkMed and would like to answer any queries.First and foremost my sincere apologies to everyone who did not get response from us or had trouble understanding the process. Our forms were under test and some submissions went to the test folder. They have been restored and we will reach out to each one of you to apologize and set things right.

MonkMed partners with doctors to solve some extremely large complex problems. In case of HepC we strongly believe in the cause and nobility of Dr Freeman’s REDEMPTION trials and we work closely with him. A formal announcement from both parties will be made soon on this topic by both parties.

    2. Hecinat LP from NATCO and Hepcvir L from CIPLA are awaiting DCGI(Drug Controller General of India) permission to launch. We work directly with manufacturer representatives and get upto date information. As of now we are told its going to take a few weeks more.
Here is an article from Times of India which is a leading newspaper in India.

This is inline with what the manufacturer reps are telling us. Please follow us on twitter for upto date info on meds.

    Hi Tim,

In some of the countries on that map list, it’s illegal to import medicines by post. How do you get around that obstacle?

Anyone should give a try. It is not a big deal. For instance Dan took them with DHL in UK. Many have shipped these meds in US too without problems.

It’s not illegal to import into the UK where Dan lives. The issue was a separate one of Incepta’s agents being able to get the meds out of Bangladesh.

Anyone should give it a try? Whether or not it’s a big deal depends whether or not they can afford to lose their money. But maybe Monkmed have systems in place to legally get medicines into countries that don’t allow postal importation?

    Hi,

Most countries allow personal import of medications as long as they are not available in home country and treatment is critical and meds are not in banned/narcotics list. Ordering upto 90 days of medication is allowed. Availability is also determined by affordability.

We also provide sufficient letters to customs explaining why a medicine is being imported pointing the to specific case details etc.

    Thanks
    Tim.

It seems that in the U.S., at the moment, personal shipments of medications, especially live-saving medications, that are unavailable or UNAFFORDABLE, ARE GETTING THROUGH! If anyone knows of an instance where these meds were detained by Customs, please post. I think Customs is letting these through. The problem has been getting people to ship to the U.S. I don’t think that Customs would refuse to release the drugs if someone challenged the detention in a loud and public manner.
    This may change.
    Mike

Yes, there may be some way to overcome the laws. If the prescription of the doctor is with the name of the generic (let say Twinvir) and a denotation Life Saving Medicines then it would be ok.

Up to now I have nor heard anyone whose medicines have been destroyed by custom.

Thanks for that Tim. Our moderator Sirchinenge lives in the Republic of Ireland. He confirmed, after discussions with his relevant government department, that medicines simply cannot be imported into Ireland by post. My understanding is that it’s the same situation in France, Serbia and the Ukraine.

What is your company policy on meds that get confiscated by an importing country’s customs department?
