MonkMed the doctor and Tim are all incredible people. My meds have been shipped and am waiting there arrival in early July. Tim answers all emails promptly and the GP2U trials are awesome and very professional, no disappointments. I feel very fortunate to have been introduced to the doctor Tim and GP2U.

    Hello everyone,
Monk Med & FixHepC helped me to get my medications HEPCVIR L, CIPLA.

I also want to share my experience with MonkMed.

I knew my Greek doctors would have never written me a DAA script and therefore I booked an appointment with Monk med trough a website and paid online/YOU CAN PAY WITH ANY DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD,very easy/. They even sent me reminder of the appointment. Well organised and efficient.
The next day I had a phone appointment with Dr Debasis. extremely nice and professional.

The whole/ time every day/ I spoke to Tim, who was on top of everything, always ready to answer my questions and find a solution for me.

MonkMed guarantee delivery to Greece – And today 9.30 p.m. my 84 pills HEPCVIR L, arrived at home!!/10 day to get here/
this is a quote from my e-mal to Tim:

    до Tim(MonkMed)
    GOOD MORNING TIM,

FINALLY I GOT MY PRECIOUS PACKAGE !!!

What a relief. Now I need to concentrate on my treatment and get rid of the virus.

I couldn’t be happier with the support I have received FROM YOU. Thank you!

    Best Regards,
    Margarita

    Hi Simone

    No fear of scam here.

My appt with Monkmed was very professional, had all my supporting documents and the meds were shipped soon after.

My meds were not allowed through Thai customs. :( This was a very rare occurrence that has happened only a few times out of over 100 countries where the meds have been shipped and successfully received so far.

I was completely refunded for the meds and Monkmed appointment a few days later. I am a bit ashamed but with exchange rates with my US based credit card I actually profited by $16 USD. :(

I have finished my course of treatment using the Sof/Dac meds for the Genotype 2 HepC that I have. The meds were obtained by shipment via FedX courier into Canada using the Redemption 2 trial MonkMed system.

My viral load is now negative and my ALT / AST tests are on the low side of average normal. My 12 week SVR tests are booked however I am very optimistic that I will be done with HepC.

I am very grateful to Tim, Dr. Freeman, MonkMed and FixHepC. Thank You.

It was hard to make the decision to trust people and organizations half a world away with my limited funds and my health however I am very happy that I did. The support and effort the these people put into me was huge. At a time when I needed help they were there for me.

When I get the hard copies of my test results I will be uploading them into the trial results.

If I can help others I will. I wrote a procedure explaining the Canadian Customs / Health Canada system and will send it to those who PM me.

    Will

Hi CD here from HepCBC. Thanks to all for sharing your stories. We are getting a lot of requests from people who want to import treatment, and our biggest problem (here in BC and I suppose the rest of Canada) is getting a physician to oversee the treatment (bloodwork, monitoring for complications –for example, I am cured now!!!! —Harvoni–but my 4th clinical trial was with Zepatier and it triggered atrial fibrillation and I was pulled off although it was working against the hep). So, how does a person who successfully imports the drugs into Canada proceed via getting blood work done? Here in BC everything is done through Pharmacare… or, is there a private pay option?

Anyways, a roadmap that we can share with people who ask us what to do would really be helpful

    All the best

Hi CD, and welcome. You could start by sending a private message to Willeert above, who is offering to share info. The best way to send a PM is the pull-down menu under the Forum tab. After you have sent the message, it is a good idea to post here that a message has been sent, so the recipient looks out for it.
By the way, it is refreshing to see the hepcbc website is transparent about Gilead sponsorship.

Hi.. Thanks for the welcome and the tips. Yes, I did send a PM to Willeert, but I didn’t say that. Will this suffice? As far as sponsorship, HepCBC accepts donations from all pharmaceutical companies, and we use this money to purchase bus ads and do community awareness. The policy of HepCBC is NOT to favour any one company over another. We don’t “push” Gilead or any company. We are just trying to get everyone in Canada tested and treated.

    Hi CD,

I did not get the PM but will check my email address and make sure that it is correct.

I live in Manitoba. My local GP can order all standard blood tests as a matter of course so she did this for me during my course of treatment. I would ask your doctor if they would do the same thing for you. I got tests at 4 and 8 weeks for everything she was allowed to test me for that was applicable to HepC. They cannot prescribe the meds but they can order blood tests etc. My Hepatologist agreed to order the end of treatment tests and the 12 week after treatment tests for viral load etc. He also could not prescribe however I found that all doctors I have talked to in Manitoba sympathetic and appear not to like the system.

I suggest asking your doctors what they can do for you. I came from BC to Manitoba and found that doctors there are very sympathetic.

So, how does a person who successfully imports the drugs into Canada proceed via getting blood work done? Here in BC everything is done through Pharmacare… or, is there a private pay option?

Have you considered having HepCBC doing this:

Spend about $10,000 on a Cepeid Gene Xpert I II or IV (does 1,2, or 4 simultaneous tests)

    http://www.cepheid.com/en/cepheid-solutions-uk/systems/genexpert-systems/genexpert-ii

Then for about $30 you can buy the disposable cartridges:

    http://www.cepheid.com/en/cepheid-solutions-uk/clinical-ivd-tests/virology/xpert-hcv-viral-load

And by charging $50-100-150 for the test (as say a donation because you’re not a path lab) patients can have a PCR viral load in about 1 hour and you can pay for the nurse to draw the blood.

Then the ordinary bloods can be done by any doctor under the pretext of a check up.

There is not a huge amount of monitoring required for patients not using ribavirin.

    YMMV
