Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC27 January 2016 at 8:12 am #10524Only 4 days into tx. I do get mild headaches after taking the meds & they last for some hours. I wonder if it’s because I’m only 115lbs/53kg & the dose is probably geared for a 175 lb dude. Most of the time I feel good. I even went Mt. biking on the second day at a fairly strenuous pace. It was a big relief because for so many years I pictured feeling terrible on tx. I might not feel good enough to ride with my mates through this, but I think I’ll be able to stay somewhat fit.
I got the Fibrosure results; they claim F1-F2. Ultrasound “normal”. So, pretty stoked even though I know the tests are not too exact. My ALT had gone up to 110. Hasn’t been that high in many years.
The doc took the news just fine that I’d skipped the bullshit & got started. He asked what I paid & was very surprised this could done for $1200. He ordered all the labs for 4, 8 & 12 weeks. I don’t feel anxious at all. I know there’s a chance it won’t work but, I pretty much expect it to. Then on to the business of continuing a healthy lifestyle & making the most of this precious life, right?
Cheers

27 January 2016 at 4:28 pm #10564Hi Goat,
The headache. Mine was very dull, mild and lasted three days. You will be amazed at your 4 week labs. Your liver is breathing a huge sigh of relief. I was far more concerned about my four week test results than I am about the 12 week post tx test. I cleared the virus in the first month. 99% were probably gone in the first week. The same is happening right now with you I’ll wager. I worried for almost 30 years about why I felt like brumby crap (been waiting for a chance to use that one… all the time. Then, when I found what I had, I was worried and mad as hell at the same time. I am sick of worrying. I am ready to close that book and put it on the shelf. As far as the SVR 12 test- Yes, that is the biggie. Thats the test we all want to ace. But, if I fail it, I will give those little buggers some dac to dance with!!
Rock on!!

Got through work today but pretty bad headache tonight. I guess I’d like to hear from anyone else who is having similar trouble. I wonder if anyone takes pain relief med. I’ve not really ever had headaches before and it seems like a bad idea to take anything that would stress the liver. Starting to despair a bit.

SVR24 Redeemed4 February 2016 at 1:09 am #11122MtG…..I’m not a doctor….so take this with a grain of salt. While on treatment
moderation on top of moderation (M Twain twist on quote) should be fine.
I have read a lot of posts where people were “celibate” from anything that
could cause any issues while taking DDA’s. IMHO, an occasional headache
remedy should not interfere with your Twinvir unless there is something that
I am not aware of. Ask your Doctor.I have not started tx yet, but that is my plan. I will report my lab results as they
come due. Sorry to temporarily hijack your thread. Just wanted people to know
that I do plan on doing this. Why suffer needlessly when there is relief and little, if any, consequences. Again,
that is my opinion.I wish you the best of luck and you will prevail….e.

SVR2427 February 2016 at 6:49 am #12791Yeah so, I got my 4 week lab results today: HVC RNA BY PCR QN – NOT DETECTED. Pretty nice words to see next to those acronyms. Also, ALT 14, AST 19.
I tried to pick up results yesterday but they wouldn’t hand ’em over. The PA hadn’t initialed the papers. So, I started thinking…my money, my insurance, my health, my life. And you can’t hand over the lab copy you’re holding 2ft from me? And that led to thoughts about how I’ve paid $1000-$1200 a month for med insurance for 25 years but had to buy my own hep meds off shore from…an unknown source & hope for the best. Well, the ins. cos are corrupt along with other players in this scenario & that’s just the way it is. Mostly tho I am grateful I had the means, that this site is here & that there is a way thru Redemption or Kingswood.
Thanks to those who told me to drink more water. Headaches are rare and mild. Otherwise I am carrying on as I was pre-tx, strenuous exercise and all. I’m always happy when I check in and see you guys doing well!
Cheers!
