Hi all – finally got my meds today; they were stuck in US Customs for over a month.
When you all say “drink a lot of water” – is there a rule of thumb for quantity? how many ounces daily?
Am planning on having no side effects and getting rid of this junk ASAP!
thanks
15 May 2018 at 12:39 am #28038Welcome to the forum lifepivoting, and congratulations on finally getting your medication . Usually there aren’t any problems with US customs, I guess you’re one of the few unlucky ones. Drinking plenty of water means that you should drink water more than normal, as it helps avoid the side effects as you said, but of course without going to extremes. Perhaps one of the other members can give a more precise number in terms of quantity per day.
Also, please take your medication at the same time every day just before or with food as it helps with the medication absorption. Get enough rest, eat healthy (and avoid drinking grapefruit if you’re being treated with Daclatasvir®). In addition, never take antacids with Harvoni® or Epclusa® generics. Finally, the ‘During Treatment’ section of the FAQs page has some good information https://fixhepc.com/frequently-asked-questions.html Best of luck with your treatment.

26 May 2018 at 10:19 am #28080Hello lifepivoting,
Sorry to hear you had customs issues. It’s a bit of a crapshoot.
I think we’re pretty lucky it works and hope it keeps working.
YMMV

Congratulations on starting your treatment (and getting them out of US Customs).. You never know if that unwanted expertise might be useful to someone on the forum oneday.
As much as I try I sometimes don’t drink enough water so it was a bit of a battle for me to remember to rehydrate while I was on treatment. The headaches would eventually remind me though. I don’t know an amount but it is a bit more than usual.
Good luck…..looking forward to reading your posts.
8 June 2018 at 4:27 am #28120Life pivoting, From many years of athletics and working in warm and hot weather, you are usually drinking enough water if your urine is a pale yellow.
A rule of thumb for drinking enough water is 8 glasses/8oz, or 2 liters per day.Drinking too much water can however cause water intoxication or hyponatremia, which is diluting the sodium level in your system.
The benefits of drinking “a lot of water” are:
1. Increases energy and relieves fatigue
2. Promotes weight loss
3. Flushes out toxins
4. Improves skin complexion
5. Maintains regularity
6. Boosts immune system
7. Natural headache remedy
8.Prevents cramps and sprainsThe most important aspect of drinking water however is the color of your urine. If it’s pate yellow, you should be good.
Good luck of your medications life pivoting. I hope this information is beneficial.
