    Very few people knew how ill he was and he didn’t let on. He got the terminal diagnosis on the same day as SVR24. Horribly ironic.

    Another statistic in some worlds but not in this one.

    I hear you Vedruss. I was diagnosed in 2004 and oh so politely declined the treatment of the day. That quite possibly saved my life.
    I believe Gen 2 is easy to treat. May it be so for you.

    Not a single day off sick, in fact I felt ridiculously good while taking Harvoni. Focused and full of energy. Just felt damn good.
    I am twice as old as you, you should do it easy.

    Mine went up and so did my total cholesterol. Bothe were in the low range pre treatment.
    This was probably a blessing because I have known for a while that I need to clean up my nutrition.
    So I have and since the end of January have lost 8 kilos and my BP is back to what it should be. Haven’t checked the cholesterol yet but I’d say it’s normalising.
    In another post Doctor James aka The Legend explained that seeing as cholesterol is made in the liver it’s common to have low levels when you have liver disease, and when it starts getting better starts to make more of the stuff. It could be that the 2 are related (but then I am not a doctor)

    Hi Bogdan,
    I’m not a doctor but can relate my experience of Harvoni to you
    I had genotype 1a and pre Harvoni was treatment naive.
    Fibroscan was consistently F0 probably due to diet, exercise, no alcohol or drugs, and luck
    VL was over 6 million!!!
    LFTs were high but not horribly so.
    Side effects of Harvoni were minimal. Just the occasional brief headache.
    Sleep quality and energy levels improved almost immediately.
    AT 4 weeks all my liver functions were normal and VL was detectable but less than 15.
    I achieved SVR, i.e. I am cured of Hep C
    I think the 3 to 6 months post treatment were tougher. After having had Hep C, the knowledge that you have escaped the death sentence is pretty huge and takes a while to sink in.
    My wellbeing is still on an upward trajectory and I have a feeling of ease and contentment that I didn’t have before.
    I believe people with Genotype 1b have a better success rate that those with Genotype 1a (but I could be wrong).
    Good luck with whichever treatment you choose.

    How is everyone going post recovery?
    For me it is quite the journey psychologically, and just over a year after starting treatment do I feel I am starting to have my life back and can move on. Responses to things going on around me are very different and this leads me to reflect on the many ways HCV affects a person.
    Does anyone else feel the same way? :unsure:
