Hi Cherr1985, your story reminds me of my experience with generics, a few headaches and some insomnia, think I drank a lot of water and the headaches subsided, I’m some 4 years cured now, my VL(in the millions) was typically ugly from memory, but that’s all it is now a distant memory, generic Sof/Dac for 6 weeks I think, when i got the UD from Doc I was like WTF your kidding me, it was that easy, can’t thank Doc enough and everyone else at FixhepC, so thanks for reminding me Cherr1985, our experience is a wonderful gift we can share, just to spread the word as you have done . I hung on my monthly bloods for six months, then a year passed still UD, then 2 years, now its just a memory, good luck with it, these new generics sound amazing.

Hi tommydz44 I used sufosbuvir and daclatasvir about 18 months back, I was clear in about 2-3 weeks of any viral load, now at 18 months post tx I am well clear of the virus, had a blood test a few months ago and all was clear,
go for it, don’t stress out, DAAs work, my viral load went from in the millions to zero quite rapidly, I did finish the full course of treatment though, I did not miss a dose as per Docs instructions, don’t forget or cut doses, you should have very few if any symptoms from the meds,
My meds came from Bangla Desh(Incepta) and China(Mesochem).
I did the sof/dac for 12 weeks from memory, all good now I am putting on weight and feeling ok.

    go for it :)
    jim

I had all kinds of skin conditions before getting rid of hepC, lots of other stuff too, turns out some was hepC and apparently other symptoms were autoimmune derived due to various food intolerances, basically I went on exclusion diet during treatment for hepC and my rashes disappeared, gradually I reintroduced various foods and found a few which did not agree with me, dairy, soy and eggs the main ones,

Note I didn’t stop drinking alcohol, just switched to a gluten free beer,
Still not sure about gluten, can’t afford the bloody tests,, still have seborrhea though not as bad as it was a year ago before treatment, I wonder how much this virus plays with our immune/autoimmune systems in general,, and what if any permanent changes it leaves behind,

12 month EOT tests next week,,,

    regards jim

Re VL costs. just got abill from douglas hanly for 425 dollars. this after they quoted me $200 “if” I was going to be charged
Recommend anyone getting VLs done in Australia to get a quote in writing before proceding with the test
Seems pathology labs have descended to the gutter on this issue.

Good news though em, even if it costs :)

I got bad sides like tiredness after eating due to my low body weight on the Sof/Dac Tx. Tx is calculated for 75 kilo person, I’m barely 60 kilos, discussed it with Doc and next day I am fine, eating like a horse again an not falling asleep at the wheel when driving.

Also got depression, yucky guts, sun sensitivity and sore legs for goodness sakes, had all that for a long time when I was ill with the virus. Seems my liver was getting a bit too much Daclatasvir for too long after 10 weeks of it, Doc suggested ditching a bit of the Dac and reducing the dose somewhat. All good the next day, pain in legs gone, get energy after eating instead of falling asleep after every meal.

I’m nearly EOT so virus should be well gone by now, no need to load up the liver so much,
So don’t freak out if you get these symptoms on the Sof/Dac Tx, talk to doc/monkmed if in doubt, Sof/Led is apparently somewhat easier, they will know a lot more when they get some numbers back from Redemption I guess, yeah I know RTFM

Yeah Gaj, 2B, Chejai, Lynne, and all of you here, 3 months more waiting, it’s like counting every second as it goes bye. Still 10 days away from EOT myself, getting sides from the dac, Doc has suggested cutting it in half for the last 10 days or whatever is left. then the wait starts,, I’ve met so many amazing people in here. I used to mod on Dalnet many years ago, it was nothing like this. I’ve rarely met such a bunch of caring people in here, and so informative, the club just blows me away (and I’ve been to some weird places).
The discussions here have been robust without the put downs or any abuse from my observation. If nothing else we have been able to show a little window into this issue. Perhaps we have set an example for those in power, I don’t know yet, seems like too much money is involved with disgusting examples like Gilead showing how not to help people. Too many emotions to relate, so much happening inside and nobody around me has any idea at all. Such a gift to have this forum, such a rare gift,,thank you to everyone who has been and is part of it :)
