Hi G, I’m glad the hard part is finally over, you did great, that must have been very difficult. But you gave yourself a real chance of getting rid of this nasty virus, so no matter the outcome, you can feel very good about yourself. I hope that the result in 3 months will show that you no longer have Hepatitis C, all the best.

Sounds good Cherr, the fact that you haven’t felt this good since you were a kid after 2-3 weeks of treatment is a very good sign that everything is going according to plan. With any luck, your next viral load will be undetected :+1:

Hi Cherr, I’m glad that treatment is going mostly smoothly for you. You’re correct in that it doesn’t matter what your viral load is when getting treated with the modern Hep C medicines (DAAs), the cure rate is the same (about 95%). I remember well a patient who had a 32 million viral load getting treated and cured with generics supplied by FixHepC. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Cherr for this update, it has useful information for people with Hep C who haven’t been treated yet. It also shows that Hep C can be the real reason behind chronic fatigue.

Hi CureHep and welcome to the forum. You really do need to be careful where you get your news from, there is so much wrong information floating around the internet. Harvoni and all other Hep C medicines absolutely do not cause cancer, you should learn about any medicine’s side effects from trustworthy reputable medical websites only. These drugs were extensively tested on thousands of patients in clinical trials before the FDA approved them. As a matter of fact not getting treated and cured is what could cause cancer, but the odds of that happening increase when you reach Cirrhosis or F4, so I don’t think that you should worry about that too much yet. If I was you, I would try to get treated as soon as possible though because cancer is definitely not the only thing you need to worry about when you have Hep C, that nasty disease affects almost every organ of the body, not just the liver. Best of luck to you.

Hello Cherr, and welcome to the forum, you should be able to get all the support you need from all the great forum members here. Congratulations on making the decision to get treated, it’s one of the best decisions a person with Hep C can make in their life. Hep C is a terrible disease that affects all aspects of a person’s health, and you should feel like a different person after cure.

Regarding delivery time, the average is 2 weeks, but can take a week more if the package is stopped in US customs for inspection.

Hi G, you’re doing a great job, you’re facing an array of issues but you’re not giving up, that’s commendable. Sorry to hear about the depression and cognitive changes, but I like your determination and that despite all, you can clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I also think that if you can somehow tolerate staying on the job over the next 2 months, it would be much better than not having much to do and being alone, that’s not the best recipe for fighting depression.

Hang in there, you’re giving yourself the very best chance of getting rid of this terrible virus, and fighters usually end up winning the battle. Please keep us updated.

Thanks for posting this Dr James. Dr Raymond Schinazi is one of the greatest scientists of the century, he is the first to find a cure for a virus, his work saved countless lives. Really nice photo Hazel, you both look great :)

Hi Sherif, welcome to the forum. As Hazel said, if you did your homework well, the drug will be licensed and authentic. However, I wouldn’t be too comfortable buying from an online pharmacy that doesn’t require a prescription (I understood from your post that you don’t have one). How did you know that Harvoni is the right drug for you? Harvoni doesn’t treat all genotypes, do you know your virus genotype? Also you should have gotten a few basic blood tests before starting treatment. It can be dangerous to start treatment without them. You really should see a doctor for a prescription before starting treatment with Harvoni, and if I were you, I would ask the pharmacy to hold the order until I get one.

Welcome to the forum Jerry, and congratulations on starting your treatment journey soon. I’m not a doctor, but some patients who had Cirrhosis on this forum said that once the virus was eradicated, the liver finally got a chance to start healing itself. Please see this forum thread in which patients who were in your shoes (like the Hepatitis C activists Hazel and Sven) describe how their Cirrhosis was pretty much gone after being cured. So not only does the damage to the liver stop after successful treatment, the level of Cirrhosis can decrease as well.
