    Welcome Buranovitsch!
Yes, you do need treatment. Someone else on this forum will know about getting generics to Russia. Until then, please adjust your thinking from “do I need treatment” to ” how can I get generics as soon as possible”.

Your genotype is type 1. Using the information on this site shows the current treatments available for type 1 treatment

    Best wishes, Mnem

There are a number of suppliers that people on this site trust, at the moment you are not one of them. :-1: I would warn people to use only suppliers that fellow HepCers on this site know sell good stuff, and to get the FixHepC guarantee

Congratulations 2bornot2b, for persisting through to this point in your treatment. It is heart warming to see that you’re already experiencing the psychological benefits of getting cured from HVC. Well done you! With my very best wishes for finishing those last few pills, and your walk through to that magic 12 week post-treatment mark. Your fellow 2b treatment buddie, Mnem *)*

Hi Berrinice, Both spider naevi, and palmar erythema, can in some individuals resolve over time. That is, once the cause of liver damage is removed, as in SVR.

So in your case some of those those red bits may still go away. Give it time. Think of it like a nice piece of cheddar cheese, improving with age B)

Wow Gert, Great to see your SVR12, and your liver getting better so long after your treatment ended. Feeling happy for you. What a lucky bunch we are to have taken our health into our own hands, and with the support of the people involved in this site, to be cured.

Hi Berrinice, Seeing you write about iron levels  , red speckled palms  , and red spots :( , makes me wonder if you are thinking about iron-overload disorders, palmar erythema, and spider naevi – in which case I would encourage showing your hands to your GP. Discuss the ideas, and then put your mind to rest one way or another B)

Hi Countless, Yes, you might as well get your cholesterol levels checked. As you say, dietary cholesterol is pretty much irrelevant in terms of its contribution to total blood cholesterol levels however it is always good to know your own numbers.

Occasionally folk discover they have one of those genetic hypercholesterlaemias. Whare their body simply manufactures and or fails to clear cholesterols to normal healthy levels. It is only a small minority who have this, but if you are one of them then it’s important to treat. Go well! Mnem *)*

Having now reached the end of my 12 week Sof/Vel treatment, and received my EOT 12 week blood test results showing that I am HVC RNA – NOT DETECTED, I urge you to join me if you remain untreated.

This is my shout-out to all the Type 2 folk. We type 2ers get told things like “don’t worry, no need to treat you, it’s only type 2, and so benign compared with types1 & 3”. But, it is nasty knowing all that virus is chugging around your body, subverting your liver and other body systems. Another thing I have felt diminished by, is not being able to be an organ or blood donor.

Type 2 is relatively uncommon in most populations, and easy to treat. Please go ahead and use all of the resources on this site to fix hep c now. Help yourself, then you can help others!

    Hi Edna,
Me too Edna, I had HVB in the 1970’s. Somewhere along the way though my body spontaneously cleared that virus, luckily for me. That left me with loads of HVB antibodies, but no detectable antigen. But I still had the HVC, millions of them, until I commenced the HVC treatment that I accessed through this site earlier this year.

The folks on this site are really helpful. I reached the end of my treatment without incident, and swallowed my last DAA pill. My new blood test results show I am now free of the HVC. Whoopee!

Welcome Edna. It is so good you found this site. As the TV ad goes “come on in, the water is fine”.

Hi Jeff, You are the latest lucky winner of fixhepc! It is in no way a lottery, we all seem to get cured, even though it takes some longer than others.
That Cochrane paper, if nothing else, has given us a laugh. In this situation we hepc-ers get the last laugh

    Hi Heatherlou,
Just remember, that when you increase the dietary fiber you need to increase your fluid intake too. Otherwise if you do not balance the fiber with fluid then it can bind you inside. You say you do not like drinking water, well there are other drinks that are mostly water. Coffee, tea, herbal teas, flavoured water all count for fluid balance. Vegetables and fruits are also full of water and fiber.

Sometimes if people eat less than usual, that leads to constipation too.

Electronic cigarettes can undoubtedly provide useful harm reduction. Go ahead. They are controversial in certain jurisdictions but not in others. Seems to be many moralistic judgements on this topic, with people saying we shouldn’t use any nicotine products, but the fact is people do (for the record, I do not use e-cigarettes or any tobacco products).

Exercise with liver cirrhosis does need to be done under medical advice, but getting up to 5,000 steps a day would likely be a harmless way to begin. Someone else on here will be able to give more advice #love
