I used Harvoni ( Ledipasvir/sofosbuvir, sold under the trade name Harvoni) purchased from a compound chemist for $2500
The full course removed the virus and i remain virus free.
My cirrhotic liver has become worst irrespective of my good intentions or Harvoni, which is used to rid the virus not improve my liver. If i look after my liver theoretically it shouldnt get worst but that depends on previous damage. A damaged liver can cause alot of other problems eg edema in legs, peripheral neuropathy – add celiac disease and you get ulcerative colitis to add to the list.
The Gov’s only interest is disease prevention – not your health or state of mind.
Being diagnosed with cirrhosis after Harvoni treatment is normal as most have had the disease 20 – 40 yrs before Hep C detection and damage extent becomes known after or during treatment.
Hardly any side effects worth mentioning after taking Harvoni about 5 yrs ago but my liver/ health is a major concern.

I have been Hep C free now for over 5 years thanks to Mr Jefferys. His advice to purchase Ledipasvir $1050 + Sofosbuvir $1250 from a compounding chemist and it did the trick. Unfortunately a few months later it was placed on the PBS and i could of received treatment for free….eh.
The Hep C may be gone but the cirrhosis is still there with constant abdo pains and now im retaining water in my legs. If that wasn’t bad enough i now have peripheral neuropathy effecting my feet and slowly moving to my fingers. The experts have ruled out my heart and kidneys being the cause leaving my cirrhotic liver the remaining probable cause.
So the Hep C maybe gone but its effects remain.

Why are you having a 12 month blood test?
Once you’re Hep C free that’s it – unless you’re placing yourself in a position to get the viras again
I was told a 12 month blood test was not necessary except to see the state of my liver – nothing to do with Hep C

Starting my treatment in 2013 I had several Fibroscans which basically said I had fibrosis/cirrhosis
But after several blood tests and ultra sounds over several years I was diagnosed to have early stage cirrhosis
Now that im Hep C free its a matter of me looking after my liver – no booze – good food – only necessary prescriptive drugs
I didn’t find the Fibroscans that effective as it depended to some degree on the persons skill on using it and its not that accurate in pin pointing degree of Fibrosis/Cirrhosis

Since I was diagnosed with Hep C in 2013 I have had on going attacks in which I would wake in the early hours of the morning with burning sensations to my mouth (tongue), hands and chest. I would burn up and sweat like if I had a fever and then become freezing cold.
These symptoms would also occur after eating bland food or drinking water where I would burn up with the sweats , have heart palpitations, feel nauseas and have abdo pain. I saw several gastrologists and they all thought it had something to do with outside their field of expertise. In other words that didn’t have a clue. It’s always present and the intensity comes in cycles

Just had an appointment at the liver clinic.
The nurse confirmed I was Hep C free and need not do any more blood tests.
However because I have cirrhosis I will need to do blood tests and have ultrasounds done to monitor the condition of my liver every 6months.
Free at last – free at last – thanks to all those that helped – im Hep C free at last.

I had a bad attack May 8 around 12.30am and then 2.30am in which I ended up in hospital for the day – released 4pm. The Dr’s gave me various medicines including a ‘pink lady’ to help with my reflux but to no avail. The burning sensations in my mouth, chest, arms and hands continued for another 2 weeks. It seemed antacids only made things worst. Every time I would take a tablet, drink water or eat I would either get a spontaneous attack ( burning sensations, sweats, nauseas, dizziness and abdo pain ) or one several hours later which would wake me from my sleep. I ended up losing 2 kilos in weight in 1 week. After seeing 2 Gastrologists im back where I began in 2013, when this started after having my gallbladder removed. Some don’t think its bile reflux yet are unable to verify what maybe causing the problem.
After research through trial and error it was established the anti depressants I started a week or so before the May 9th attack partially caused my attack by reacting with another drug I was taking, leaving me feeling better yet anxious about having another attack as this has been going on to a lesser degree since 2013.

After generic treatment bloods revealed virus not detected. I have F4 cirrhosis and still feel abdo pain have problems with digestion and ulcerative colitis.
I look after my liver and have done so for over a year.
I was wondering if there were a chance for my liver to improve or will it stay the same and possibly move from compensated cirrhosis to decompensated cirrhosis?

Three weeks in and I have my LFT’s. It seems generic harvoni is working.
    Before GGT227
    Now GGT 88
    Before AST 79
    Now AST 20
    Before ALT 89
    Now ALT 12
So there has been a significant improvement in my liver enzymes. This hopefully will prevent further cirrhosis of my liver.
Still feel lousy and wake every night with fevers, heart palpitations, sweats and abdo pain, although not as bad as before. I guess these could be contributed to other problems I have caused by cirrhosis of the liver.
