Just wondering if anyone has already done this and if they had any problems getting the medicine to come through. My insurance company wants me to get a lot sicker before they will even consider providing medicine, (they want me to have F3 or worse), and Im at the upper end of F2, just a little ways from F3).

Thank you for any and all advice.

The problem in the US is that pretty much no doctors are willing to prescribe.

A pragmatic solution would be medical tourism to a country where you can get a prescription and access to the medications.

I am aware of people doing just that.

In Australia our personal importation laws mean you would need to see a doctor like me online then setup the import with the expectation it could take up to 4 weeks to be available here.

Looking to India, where Sof+Riba suitable for GT2 is currently available you could just go now.

    Most people are GT1 (54%) or GT3 (37%) so need Sof/Dac (1 & 3) or Sof/Led (1 only).

There was Sof/Led in Bangladesh but stocks are low. Sof/Dac will become available within weeks.

Thank you Dr. However I don’t think I could handle ribavarin. Im 65, have asthma/copd, and diverticulosis/itis, already fatigued and I have to work 50-60 hours most weeks. I think ribavarin would take me out. Therefore, I would prefer to treat with sofosbuvir and daclatasvir. Do you know if I would I be able to get both of those on a trip to India, at a reputable place?

If I were to get a US doctor to write a prescription, is it possible to import to the US?

Thanks for the quick reply. I would assume this information applies to the buyers club as well?

I dont know what the restrictions are for US citizens purchasing meds inbound however a

generic Sofosbuvir from India called Hepcinat manufactured by Natco is distributed from Canada

by http://www.aids-drugs-online.com Aids drugs On-Line. This organisation was created

specifically to help those who are having trouble managing the high-costs of HIV/AIDS medicines.

The Hepcinat is pricier than through Greg or FixHepC – but if posting in is a problem for US

citizens – Canada isnt far away. Might be useful for some.

Thanks for posting the link, Archer.

I think the issue for USA patients is the lack of Dr’s writing scripts am positive as time go’s on this may no longer be a
    problem.

2B. I am a Canadian expat living in Panama and just ordered some Ribavirin from India. The company in India did ask for a script which was no problem. My biggest worry was having it shipped through the USA. I have a Mailbox Etc box in Miami and from there they forward it on to me here in Panama. I was in their office today and they told me that several US citizens purchase generic drugs through India. The US does not check the parcels as long as you have the appropriate paper work. Another suggestion, you may want to find an Indian or Pakistani Dr in Th US. They may be more apt to write you a script. Bribery works well here, but probably not for you. Hope this helps.

I’m having some conversations with some consultants I know in New York am hoping they
will write scripts for patients in the USA.

I’ll update when I know more.

yes, please let us know on that…im in NY so that would really work out.
The doctors office today (for something else) had big signs on the wall they NY law now tells them they can only transmit scripts electronically to a pharmacy in NY, so not sure what that means in reality, but the signs were weird.
