Waiting for the prescription to arrive was way tougher than the first few days of (relatively mild) side effects. I watched the tracking information like a hawk (USPS tracking is not very detailed), and after the package cleared customs, I actually stayed home one day to wait for the meds after having a very intense dream that the package had arrived. A few days later (four actually), the package actually had arrived, and I was at the post office with a print out of the tracking information in my hand hours before the notice came later that day.
I spent a lot of time on the forum during the 16 days that the package was in transit, reading, learning, and getting up to speed on the latest. Time well spent!
Please give me a shout anytime! If you find yourself needing something to do, you are welcome to help me post Public Service Announcements – ‘PSA’s’. I don’t call them ‘ads’ because the forum is all about community, friendship, and support – and we don’t sell anything here.
In fact I think I see a shameless ‘plug’ coming at this very moment, and here it is….

16 June 2016 at 8:43 am #19199The warm shivers just ran up my spine and into my brain as I think of ridding this disgusting disease from my system! I am so seriously over joyed at the companionship here and all whom have and will have success. I will help in any way can to make awareness a reality to those whom this disease has ran them out of gas and left them thinking there was no hope.
This disease has taken the life of my 3 brothers who were my best friends and threatened to wreck mine and waylaid my hopes and dreams for years. So for them and me I am grateful to an extent only those who’ve been there know, all of us.
Thank you all for accepting me, I am so thankful, a bit scared and happy all at he same time.

Went for a power walk this morning, and was completely taken by surprise with the amount of energy at my disposal. I hadn’t felt like that in years.
ETA: Brain fog settled back in this afternoon. I suppose that is the Yin and Yang of DAA treatment. This is powerful stuff, and every now and then, I’m reminded of that.
16 June 2016 at 11:26 pm #19251Hey Fitz, I’m right there with you brother. A lot of ups n’ downs, (mostly ups for me) but, yeah they’re there. New for me in the last few days, is itchy spots. Not too bothersome for now, but noticeable at times. For the most part, so far, Im feeling better and better. Many of my close friends have commented how I look better, my “color” looks better they all say, and as GT2 noted on his post, I’m losing the belly fat. Yay! All it took was these DAA’s! Go figure

Ditto on the midsection changes. Maybe four days ago, I started whizzing like a Russian race horse (urinating often and in large volumes.) I eat pretty clean, and haven’t changed my diet, but noticed yesterday that my pants were considerably looser around the belt line.
Guessing I was retaining some water there (and probably everywhere else) due to the state of my HCV ravaged liver. Anyway, I’m drinking plenty of water, and whatever the reason, I seem to have lost about an inch around the midsection since starting generic Sof/Led.
16 June 2016 at 11:59 pm #19258Sven. I wanted to add my congrats to you on getting on board the train to HepC freedom and add that I’m sorry you lost, not one but THREE of your brothers to the “DISEASE”. Tragic.
I lost my older brother to the disease of alcoholism before this other one, (HepC) could take him. He died in a single car accident while on the tail end of a 4 day drinking binge. Before that he’d been clean and sober for 5 years but was facing having to deal with cirrhosis of the liver. He too had been diagnosed with HepC and was wrestling with whether or not to go the peginf ribavirin route. He was scared of it and rightly so. In the years since his death, I’ve often wondered if his accident was really no accident ???
That aside, the positive aspect of his death was that it woke up our two younger brothers to the need to seek help with their addiction problems. They did so and have stayed clean and sober themselves for over ten years now. My brother would be proud of that.
Since my finding Fixhepc and then starting the Redemption trial, I’ve been able to get both my brothers, who also have HepC, excited about getting treated. .. As, you’ve already experienced on this site Sven, we’re not alone on this journey.Best wishes on a successful treatment and we’re ALL looking forward to seeing you get posting on your own topic. Just follow Gaj’s direction to that url he posted here and you’ll be on your way in no time. Oh yeah, WELCOME to the fray!
