MOHS went OK. Really well, actually. Took three passes, and left a dime sized oval hole which the surgeon patched up right there.
So glad I made that appointment with my Dermatologist and didn’t wait. The MOHS surgeon is just an incredible guy. We chatted while he worked. I’ll go back in three months for dermabrasion to blend out the scar.
The surgeon’s nurse (who was great!) did the sutures and asked me about being treated for Hep C. She and the surgeon had assumed I had the $94,000 treatment. I said no, my insurance company had denied the claim. You could have heard a pin drop. The nurse (name withheld) asked me how I had gotten treatment. I told her my story. I told her about generics, about the cost, and about the REDEMPTION Trials. We chatted while she put in the stitches.
Before I left, she had me write down Dr Freeman’s name, along with the website address, and the name of the trials.
So, here I am looking like Papa Smurf after a bar fight.
My sincere thanks to my outstanding surgeon, and to his wonderful nurses and staff.

7 July 2016 at 7:51 am #20616Thanks for the well wishes Tina and Hazel.
Standard procedure here is to prescribe acetaminophen plus a narcotic pain killer. For me they just prescribed a low dose opiate pain killer with no acetaminophen. I don’t like opiate pain killers at all (constipation, loss of appetite, poor sleep), but they do a good job for surgical pain. I don’t sleep much on them, so will catch up on TV, and forum news.
CBC and Metabolic panel labs from Teus. are back. Surprising improvement in a number of areas including Glucose. Still waiting for 4 week viral load assay. Fingers crossed.
7 July 2016 at 8:17 am #20617Hi Fitz looking a bit sore there hopefully you recover fast. Dermabrasion totally works. It is the scar wonder without too much drama like fraxel (a lazer thingy) anyway I doubt they do fraxel on faces but who NOSE illy:' />
They seem to be able to do anything to scar tissue these days! Wishing you a bit of enforced downtime and of course for great results from tx forthcoming too
Splashing healing salty water!
Ariel7 July 2016 at 9:23 am #20623Hi Fitz
Looks like your MOHS surgeon has done a good job … hopefully, he got it all.
I’m sure the scar will fade in time … don’t be too vain about it and consult a plastic surgeon, as who NOSE what you’ll get …
Wishing you a speedy recovery

Will not hesitate to seek the services of a plastic surgeon if required. MOHS surgeon said nose looked good. Will see how swelling and scarring resolves.
Ugh. Just barfed for the second time since early this afternoon. Both times after taking Arnica tabs for swelling. Reloaded my BP med and swore off Arnica. Don’t think my body likes opiates either. BP med and DAA are essential. The rest i can do without.

You do have alot on your plate and being so brave and cheery – Well done you!
I hope everything improves for you soon.
I usually take the odd homeopathic med here and there but kept right off them during treatment. As they are said to trigger your own immune system, albeit in miniscule doses, I would be wary of adding anything chemical into the mix on top off the rest!
Get well soon mate,

Cured baby7 July 2016 at 2:00 pm #20653Damn Fitz!
Start slathering on the SPF 1000 and get a big hat!!
That stuff is nothing to mess with and I know.
Mine was on my left temple. The doc said it was probably from driving or being a right handed golfer.
You can barely see the scar now.
You will be fine.
Too bad it’s not Halloween though…

Hep C RNA NOT DETECTED”7 July 2016 at 11:58 pm #20671So, my specialist’s office called today. Viral load is way down from the rosy 5,500,000 or so reported earlier this year. 4 week labs show a viral load of 35 (Thirty Five).
Getting printouts is like pulling teeth. I had to call the lab directly today and have the results mailed. Will post here when I get the hard copy in my hand
I checked VL results from thirteen months ago (around the time I was put on a waiting list for a YEAR). Result was much higher then. Over 9 million.
From 06/05/15:
