I like advice, but will only consider it if it comes from a trusted source who knows something I do not.
Dabal-Are you someone to be trusted?
There are lives on the line here. There is a difference between fear mongering and sound advice with the intent to help people get the medicines they need.
So, help us out here. More explanation and background is needed.
Build some trust.

Defense is the best offense. In volleyball, defense keys on ball, setter, ball, hitter.
The ball is important.
So is the player.

Sometimes, partial/incomplete information (which I suspect we’re getting from this new poster) is the same as bad information. It’s called manipulation of the facts.
15 January 2016 at 9:33 pm #9290This is how it works.
You land in India you have a contact like Gandhi medicos or Bull pharma or anyone. So they give you the meds and you pay them cash and they go.
What does bull or Gandhi do ? He has docs who write a prescription for him for a charge of Rs 500
Now his good friend distributor gets this prescription from him IF NEED BE.
Buying on line would in many cases require a prescription from your country.
If you walk into a Pharmacy in India and ASK FOR LEDIFOS without prescription you will get it and you probably will pay Rs. 25000 not the 22500 discounted price. You may have to wait a day or 2 to get it as the guy will order it for you. The pharmacy guy will organize a prescription for himself to show to who he has to. If you have a prescription from a local Doctor sure haggle the price.
Its not complicated in India. Whom you buy from is more important than HOW you buy it.

These are dangerous statements. No doctor will write a prescription in India without seeing the patient himself (video/audio/in person) and verifying lab results.
(they can be from any country). Doctors don’t want their licenses revoked after 10 yrs of education and another 10-15yrs of hard work to establish a practice. So if pharmacy is saying they have doctors who generate scripts like some clerks they are point blank lying. Please don’t mislead the crowd by making these outrageous statements and showing disrespect for Indian Law. You never know your IP might be recorded and the repercussions of the same next time you are in India to get meds without prescription. Also you are making FixHepC indirectly liable for legal action.
15 January 2016 at 11:26 pm #9305Here are my points and my last conclusive post on this topic. I will try to keep it positive after all the accusations thrown mine way.
Age 40 yrs, Indian, HepC for last 10 yrs. Ex Army, Ex Law Enforcement. Liver Cancer Survivor. Came to this site to share my experience but looks like you need to be old in this forum to be taken seriously.
Action against nine websites selling Schedule ‘H’ drugs – See more at: http://indianexpress.com/article/cities/mumbai/action-against-nine-websites-selling-schedule-h-drugs/#sthash.qPKKo2yr.dpuf
The above happened as we were posting replies and pretty much summarizes what I was trying to explain. After this no reputed pharmacy will sell meds without script. This has been in the news for sometime and all pharmacies know this very well.So if someone has still sold without prescription its anyone’s guess what was sold. Every single barcode is unique and a patient name goes on file for Schedule H and X drugs
For some few people who will not follow simple process rest others will get hurt as Govt will restrict sale to Indian Citizens when it sees foreigners violating processes.
Big Pharma influence is everywhere. They will enforce only 1 pharmacy (under their control) has the medicines in a particular city and it will not dispense to a foreigner. Locals will have no problem traveling, but what will foreigners do?
Big Pharma does not want its drugs to be shipped outside India. Bags of foreigners are being strictly checked and if any non prescription medication if found they will detain you and take you to airport police. This is happening in all international airports and you will see a news article on the crackdown very soon about it.As far as Greg’s advice on getting prescription below is an excerpt from his email. Please see and respect the length he has gone in to explain how to get a prescription.
===”Greg’s Quote”===
You do not need a prescription to buy generic Sofosbuvir if you are in India yourself however I would recommend that you get one just to keep yourself covered, it may be required at some stage of your journey. Ideally I would suggest a prescription from your home country and one from an India doctor, just to make sure every eventuality is covered.
I obtained my prescription through the Gastroenterology Department at the Apollo hospital, this is a private hospital and they have a special section for foreign “medical tourists” very professional and easy to deal with via internet. Make your appointment before you leave home and make your appointment at the earliest time after your arrival in Chennai to allow for delays.
If you do not need the hospital then Lakshmidsan can arrange for a local doctor to consult with you and write your prescription. Remember to take along all you test results, scans, bloods etc. There are other high quality hospitals in India and other Apollo hospitals in other cities. https://www.apollohospitals.com/international-patient-services-plan-your- visit.php
If you do not need to see a specialist then most India GP’s will write you a prescription if you have all your test results and explain the situation.
==============================================================
So if he was cautioning on getting a script 3 months ago, don’t you know think after all these incidents of Govt Of India Cancelling licenses etc you should be following the process and not make it impossible going ahead for foreigners to get medications? Like I said it costs only 6 bucks to get a script provided you have supporting documents to prove you have HepC.
Respected Dr Freeman, please take note of such discussion on illegal activities on your forum, encouraged and supported by moderators. I am afraid people will be misled and hurt and Govt will make it impossible for foreigners to get meds.

If words gets around that FixHepC promotes risky illegal activities it will not take much time for regulators to clamp down this site. Hence my sincere request to everyone is not to promote illegal activities. If this was anywhere else like UK,US,AUS would you be able to get the drugs without prescription? There is a reason FixHepC requires prescription to ship medications. Please dont play with Indian Legal System and think its any where lenient and easy. Cops are known to put ppl behind bars on slightest suspicion and no lawyer will come to help for a case where Schedule H drug was procured without script. All this for few dollars?
Why are you here ? You dont seem to have hepC. Thanks for the tip and dont worry about us, we have more than enough issues of our own.
darbara, it seems abal was registered just today on the forum. dear abal could you please share more information on who you are? whether you have hepatitis c? were you scammed from any supplier? if yes there is a seperate thread to name and shame such suppliers.
I do not believe that either length of registration or number of posts determines the value of a posters information and nor does whether the poster has HCV although that is useful to know. The other questions are fair and valid and answers will assist all here to assess the posters information and how much confidence can be placed in it.
The vast majority of posters on here are hepc sufferers, and they arrive here either with a story to tell or asking for advice. When a poster suddenly turns up only wanting to give (controversial) advice which contradicts the advice of no less than Greg Jefferys (who has, er, ahem, a bit of a proven track record on the small matter of obtaining generic meds from India), and with no sort of personal story whatsoever, I for one am deeply suspicious.
Well said alsdad, creates questions on credibility of the user who is registered only today and fails to answer any questions which are asked by other members and fails to narrate his story on the forum here.

Whether abal is a sock puppet for one particular outfit offering a package deal (my own suspicion), a troll for big pharma, or just a troll will have to be ascertained by fixhepc management.
15 January 2016 at 11:42 pm #9310What is your point exactly you seem to think Pharmacies and Dr’s are breaking Indian
laws surely you should bring this up in India. We don’t need you too explain international law nor do we need your opinions on whether
we’re breaking laws ,no law is being broken. We are not liable for someone else posting their experiences in India nor do we censor people
explaining how they bought medication in India with scripts we are set up too Help people with Hep
C buy in countries like India.Suggesting your IP could be used against you is absurd now you’re suggesting we face some Law
enforcement investigation in India. Well, I work in Cyber I don’t buy it.
