Hey London Girl,
I salute you!! Glad I ran across this thread, I didn’t know you were a “generic rebel” from the Redemption trials. Good for you! WTG!!
G1a dx’d in 1992, Biopsy F2 VL 8mill +. Tried tx with Interferon/Riba, back in 2008 didn’t last long it felt horribly ugly!! I stopped tx, after 5 weeks!!
Started tx 6/1/16 with Harvoni.
12 Month Labs= UND24 July 2016 at 2:32 pm #21326Hey FB
Yep , I was an ‘early-bird’ for the Indian generics.
It’s in my profile btw but my profile is running out of space due to extending tx and I don’t blame you for not making much sense of it!Am just over 2 weeks EOT and in the ‘big wait’
Hope you’re doing good,
LG

So 3 weeks+ since EOT, felt totally knackered for the first two weeks but feeling alot better week 3
I’ve been told by many fellow patients this is the norm, so thought I’d update my thread to mention.Haven’t had any post tx tests yet, hospital only offers 12 week testing post tx, but very full testing. Having a little holiday from it all but will probably ask GP for ‘poor mans VL’ after some ‘ time out’.
Back on the supplements, VitD, B12, Folic Acid, Alpha Lipoic Acid and maybe Liv52 from Himalaya Herbals.
Big to all.

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC3 August 2016 at 1:37 am #21787Hey LG I was sooo tired after EOT too and my timing was almost exactly as you recount. I am still having interrupted waking and am SVR18plus. I think it will take a while for my little body to get used to not being on meds as it has been a variety of prescribed cocktails over almost five years. I think you did a long haul and have taken a lot of DAAs (the first one was really rough on you too) and will also need a good break until you feel okay and routines start up in your internal body clock, at least that is my experience for what it is worth. It is very stressful after EOT, well it was for this old relapser here despite my labs during tx being so good and all the praise on the forum I still was anxious my friend, so I can only send you loving empathy at this time. I pulled bloods every 4 weeks I was so scared because of my previous experiences. Being a slow responder are you seeking out LFTs and so on more often ? I am not trying to scare anyone ever, I am just wondering how you are feeling inside. (I am sneaking off for LFTs recently for my own peace of mind, just haven’t blogged)
I only want the best for you come on LG cross the finish line I am so backing you.Love always, Hugs Ariel
3 August 2016 at 9:57 am #21796Hi LG. I know you’re having a bit of a break so relax and enjoy please. I relocated across the country just before EOT which was great for taking my mind off the anxiety.
I think that if you want to have an earlier blood test then go for it. Having managed this disease for so long we have probably earned the right to some anxiety and extra blood tests to alleviate it. You couldn’t have done more to help your body fight this and I’m so hoping for the best result for you.
3 August 2016 at 11:42 am #21800Thank-you Ariel and Coral,
Yes Ariel, my sleep pattern is messed up. I seem to be staying up too late, but not sleeping late enough in the morning to make up for it and waking up grumpy.
I am mostly fine, but have moments of panic if I get any symptoms that my memory associates with the virus. These are usually overcome without too much stress as I am also have some lengthly periods of feeling more ‘normal’. Not sure what ‘normal’ should really be at this age as Coral says as been managing & living with this disease for so long, but I am having spells where I am ‘interested in life again’, so I guess it’s a thing of the mind. Having said that, I’m not feeling very sociable regarding people at all, feeling hermit-like and just want peace, quiet and rest, I’d be happy if I didn’t have any responsibilities at all for a few months and just well, be free ! Do you know what I mean? I’m sure you both do
Dear Coral, I am thinking of you and whatever the outcome of my next tests, will be around here to try and support you in your next journey. I hope you’re not feeling too bad physically and are keeping your spirits up as much as you can. From what I’m reading, there are some very hopeful new options on the horizon. We are so lucky to be in this new super-duper phase of new medicines and having access thanks to good people like MonkMed & Dr Freeman. as poor Ariel had to experience before. Also I feel blessed to have my treatment buddies on this unique forum, what would I have done without you guys
Still hoping to keep away from testing until after my little break, but the curious, impatient me is battling with my sensible me. I know I need a few more weeks rest from the whole damn thing, mentally, you know?
We shall see which one of me wins, hey
Big to you both.
LG xx

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC3 August 2016 at 2:18 pm #21807Hi LG
I’m reading your post and having little chuckles because the way I’m feeling post Tx is almost exactly the same as you.Realised recently that this condition has been with me for 2/3 of my life hmy:
Pretty much as soon as I started Tx my sleep patterns became so wonderful, omg that made me so happy!
I’m more tired than I was on Tx and sometimes feel a bit vague, which freaks me right out. Twice in t he past week I’ve opted to sleep in rather than do the morning swim that I love so much, and this morning the group had a friendly dolphin for company, bugger
Never used to have liver twinges but now occasionally I do, and this causes what I call o shit moments.
Since EOT I’ve been craving carbs. Now carbs are not my friend although I wish they were. Normally I can ignore the call of the carbohydrate but I guess I have been in celebration mode and cutting myself some slack. Will have to go back to being serious about the nutrition again dammit
I was treated at a public hospital clinic and will be tested at 12 weeks, on 02 September, but who’s counting. No point at all in getting tested before this but I wish that date would come quickly. Things don’t stress me too much but this is at the back of my mind most of the time.
There is a very helpful Yoga sequence for emotional stability on the internet, but I’m reluctant to post it- it’s a “don’t try this at home” thing. Some of the postures can be done with little instruction but if you aren’t accustomed to supported inversions you should get some expert assistance.

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC8 August 2016 at 3:53 pm #21973Hey Beaches
Pretty much as soon as I started Tx my sleep patterns became so wonderful, omg that made me so happy!
I know how that felt, I slept like a dream on the meds – and now a little erratic in sleep patterns again
I’m more tired than I was on Tx and sometimes feel a bit vague, which freaks me right out.
Yes, vague here too, very vague – I am thinking my brain wants to shut down about it all, ie have a rest, am hoping this is the reason. Short term memory loss and not interested in anything ‘organised’ or ‘necessary to do’ etc almost like I was when very young with no responsibilities ! Could do with having nothing to do , listen to music, gardening, walking in beautiful places, that kind of thing – Trying to do this as much as possible. Shame to miss the friendly dolphin – I would have loved that!
Like you I believe I carried the virus a long time, through all its ups and downs, not wonder we’re tired
Since EOT I’ve been craving carbs. Now carbs are not my friend although I wish they were. Normally I can ignore the call of the carbohydrate but I guess I have been in celebration mode and cutting myself some slack. Will have to go back to being serious about the nutrition again dammit
I hear you – What else can I say

Not so long now Beaches, I have until end Oct , but may test a little sooner, but not just yet.
Not crazy on the yoga this end, but into the beaches and swimming big time – Hope you get some more in
Well, as I sit here munching on a coffee and a BIG FAT pastry I send you big and you know where I am if you ever fancy a natter.
Love LG xox

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC6 October 2016 at 11:19 am #23563Dear all,
Sitting here trying to keep busy, waiting on my SVR12 result to come back from the lab.
Since I started tx early Jan until now, some weeks flew by and some weeks dragged. Post tx went quite quickly for the first 10 weeks, but the last fortnight has been on go slow – and these last few days are positively crawling!
I’ve been catching up with all the newer folk and reading some old posts remembering those early birds fondly, as someone else said, every SVR has been a joy and triumph to me and the few relapses I feel from the bottom of my heart.
Whatever the outcome for me personaly, I would like to wish everyone here my best wishes for good health, especially those who have had to take on another treatment.
You are all in the best possible place to beat this damn virus
I am so much better physically and mentally since embarking on this journey and so grateful to Tim, Dr Debasis at MonkMed, Dr Freeman & Fix HepC, Greg J for starting something good and all of the generic rebels here who have shared their advise, support, friendship, empathy and good humour throughout the ups and downs, without you all I would have surely gone mad! You are all awesome! Words cannot express …
Well, I wasn’t going to write a speech ha ha but, sitting here over my morning coffee, waiting for my results and reading a few old posts along with latest news, has kind of made me remember the past year and got me all teary !
I just want to send my warmest wishes and BIG and admiration to you all

I have been quite chilled out post tx, but now I just wanna know for sure! I can’t seem to process the Alt result really, I want to see the VL test in b & w before I can relax. Hoping tomorrow my sample will be tested… not sure I can survive another weekend ha ha I’ll be asking Dr F for a valium script

Hi LG,
I understand what you mean, same thing happens to me too. I have my appointment for the VL test next week. Initially I wanted to be precisely after the 12 week ends, but couple of days more will not have a huge impact, especially if the result will be UND.
Are you going to take generic valium or branded one? illy:' />These are the last 100 meters in your “Get free fom HCV” marathon. Have patience, you are very very close from the finish line. And be confident you will be fine.
