    Hi

Hello everyone, I’m new to this site. I’ve noticed there have been posts recommending to avoid I’d some fruits ie grape fruit etc..I just had a Cup of licorice tea and as an after thought decided to check if it potentially inhibited CYP3A4..I think it does..my concern is has this one cup of licorice
Damaged my chances for a sussessful outcome re treatment..

It’s only early days for me re commencing treatment ..Feeling worried .. I’m due to take my 3rd dose of Sol/dac tonight

Any advise would be appreciated :)

I’m no Dr, but I wouldn’t think it has harmed your chances. Especially since your intake of tea and your dose is staggered.

    Hi and welcome,

Also not a Dr but with the one cup you will be fine, liquorice has been identified as a cyp3a4 inhibitor but I couldn’t find anything on how strong the effect was. As splitdog says and given you are only two days into treatment that won’t be a problem, just don’t keep drinking it. If you search the site for “CYP3a4” you should find plenty on what items to avoid.

Jack, I’m on the same (Sof/Dac) and am on week 6. I have virtually no side effects. Are you experiencing any?

nah, can’t see one cup throwing off 12 weeks of killer meds, but like everyone else said,
    Stop doing that thing!

GT 2b; since 80’s, no prior tx, sofosbuvir and daclatasvir compounded from API’s at Kingswood Pharmacy in Sydney, started tx nov 6,2015, undetected at 4 wks, UND at 8 weeks, UND at 1 week after EOT, UND at 4 weeks after EOT and UND at 8 weeks after EOT. I feel GOOD!! I knew that I WOULD!””

    This will have no impact.

CYP3A4 inhibitors increase the levels of Dac so it is likely to:

    1. Be equally or more effective, but
    2. Give more side effects

    YMMV
