I just found this http://www.msfaccess.org/spotlight-on/trans-pacific-partnership-agreement
Check out the video in the site page. These folks are the biggest users of generic meds on the planet. The key is generic importation rules may be changed, including USA and other countries. This is what I fear. Remember, this is being negotiated in secret and the details will only become known once it passes! The 3 month generic supply rule could be ended and that changes everything.
RED ALERT – Get your generic meds now. When TPP passes, you may have to go to India or Bangladesh and smuggle them back on your body.
If you’re gonna wait, tape em’ to your thigh and wear baggy pants. hmy:

100% agree with GF – the looming TPPA and its ramifications was what made me grab this golden oppertunity – if you are on the fence its time to get off and go for it.
Greed has no bounds.

It is a very dirty deal. Here is a short video

All the more reason people must have a voice.
Thanks for the info

Ariel30 April 2016 at 5:31 am #16396I know I’m probably going overboard with this topic. If you are on this website, it’s because you sought out treatment. I just want you to know that this is the treatment Nirvana site folks. Step right up, get your Twinvir, or Cipla or Compounded meds. Take your pick, make your choice depending on the meds you need. My message is simple; don’t think this will necessarily be available forever; it’s a treatment oasis. It could turn into a mirage hmy:
30 April 2016 at 5:32 am #16397Hi Ariel,
I think your graphic is relevant, it gives some concept of the size of the budget that Big Pharma has available to contribute to the lobbying costs for the TPP.
Perhaps we should ponder which bucket those costs end up in. “Detailing”? Or “Educational and Promotional Meetings”? Maybe even chuck a bit into “Promotional Mailings”?
However they actually assign the costs they sure have a s***load of money to throw around to influence people making the decisions about the TPP. In which case it’s not surprising that the TPP looks set to limit generics use.

30 April 2016 at 5:43 am #16398Gilead reported weak Harvoni sales today. Their stock dropped 9%. The poor babies only earned 7.8 billion this quarter
This drug is the best selling drug of all time in dollar terms. They have competition now from Merck. Maybe generic importation will still be available for other drugs, but a treatment that costs $90,000 for 12 weeks could get blocked. Twinvir, the generic equivalent, is now $1,000.
This may become a problem for Gilead. They want you to pay $90,000. Or go and die: after all, what use are you to them??
There is a list of drugs that are not allowed for generic importation. This drug could be added if they manage to influence ($$$) the right people.
But you can still get your meds and be cured without these evil bastards
30 April 2016 at 6:03 am #16399Hi GF,
Three month history of their share price. The interesting point is that the increase in price over that period until this week was due to $8 billion in share buybacks they made rather than driven by perceived market value. This depleted their cash reserves by $4.9b while resulting in no gain in net overall value of the business.
Also, Harvoni sales were down 16% against the same period last year. Some of that will be due to competition from the likes of Merck but those around the world sourcing and using generics will have contributed too.

30 April 2016 at 7:01 am #1640630 April 2016 at 6:44 pm #16445I read the TPP for nearly 2 hours last night and barely made a dent in it. It is obfuscating and confusing, but hard to understand.
Lawyers and politicians must love it…

Issue by issue these links are really good at explaining exactly what the text means in practice and what sort of limits are really being imposed, The legal analysis is done, by someone who knows how, and presented for an interested, non law audience. Apart from our specific indigenous treaty things, these apply to everyone who is signing up. Try the last link for the relevant patent stuff, or the environment one if you want to scare yourself: each summary is not very long.
