Dr Andrew Hill is a well known and well connected actor on the HIV/HCV “scene”. He is also a co-author of our generics paper for EASL.

To help stimulated interest in the US media patients with the correct accent are required.

If you’re up for talking to the media (paper, radio and/or TV) please contact Andrew or I directly.

I wish I could do this for you! But my job is about to be outsourced, and I am aggressively seeking a new one. I can’t afford the stigma associated with this disease. If I can do it with my identity being hidden, I will do it.

    Hi GF,

If you could send an email to Andrew that would be great.

Although I’m sure we will need someone stateside to put a face to it, even putting an anonymous voice to it – with a familiar accent – should help draw the US media in, so it would be great if you could speak anonymously about it.

    Doc,
You know I would do that in a hearbeat, but I finished on the factory stuff. Still, the story is a pretty good one.
I may not be “generic patient ‘0’” in the U.S., but I have to be close.
But, for your purpose, I am “tainted” goods.

I’m out of the country right now. I expect to be back first week of May. If he still needs somebody at that time I’ll do it.

Put in your LA voice instead. There is a reason why most

Go for it Mike, you are a generics importation representative for sure with the blessing of all, no matter what packet you got them out of. I am dreaming of fixhepc, the screenplay. We already have the cast of characters, you write your own dialogue! and we need a young Don Adams to star as you. But until then, tell them about it. You too GF, on your own terms.

We have a nurse on treatment. I’ll pass the message to her and to Alex (who’s making the video on treating with generics). She would be perfect. She likes cameras and interviews.

It’s turned out to be academic.

The Washington Post, New York Times and Boston Globe have all decided NOT to run the story.

While one view would be the evil hand of Big Pharma suppressed the story it’s probably a bit more pragmatic.

If we had FAILED that would have been news, but given the lack of failure….

The problem is that the story was effectively communicated as “Cheaper versions of already proven American drugs have been proven to work by people who are not Americans, treating people who not Americans, reporting to people who are not Americans somewhere which is not in America called Spain, at some conference which is not American called the EASL ILC 2016”

Getting this story to float in the mainstream media in the USA is going to take work, and quite possibly a blonde hair, big boobs and uber fame celebrity endorsement.

Sad as it may be if Pamela Anderson had said “I had Hep C, took generics, and got cured” then the US media would be all over it.

    YMMV
