    Welcome Reality214,

I have removed your offer and contact details from the post above as this forum does not allow unverified persons to offer medications to others. Please also note that many countries including the USA have strict laws against resale of unused prescription medications and heavy penalties may apply.

I would also recommend that anyone prescibed HCV medications complete the full course unless there is a very good reason for discontinuing treatment and this has been discussed and agreed with your prescribing doctor/specialist. This is because most patients will become ‘undetected’ on a HCV PCR viral load test part way through treatment but that is not an indication of successful cure which can only be confirmed by testing at 12 weeks after the completion of treatment (SVR12). Medication should continue to be taken until the full prescribed course has been completed to ensure the best opportunity for success.

    Welcome ahmonz, :)

It is true that genotype 6 is less common in most countries and therefore the research level has been lower in patient numbers but that research shows that it responds to these new drugs as well as other genotypes when the appropriate medication for your genotype is used.
Generic medications are available at far more reasonable prices than the branded versions and are available from FixhepC for approx. US$1500-1600 per 3 month treatment. http://fixhepc.com/getting-treated/how-to-do-it.html
With the old style interferon/ribavirin treatments body weight was recognised as an indicator of likelihood of success but my understanding is that it has minimal/very small impact on successful treatment with these new direct acting antivirals….but there could be other reasons your doctor wants you to lose weight prior to treatment?

Coffee isn’t a problem as such although I think a couple of people here found it didn’t agree with them while on treatment for some reason, so if you don’t have any problems with it 2 – 3 cups a day should be fine.

Personally I’m trying to cut down to one cup a day……

I’d just sent you this link in another thread.

I’m not a doctor so you should discuss this situation with one before stopping your medication. Reading the warning it seems that there is a possibility that Daclatasvir may (potentially) effect Levothyroxine rather than the other way round. It may be that you need closer monitoring of your thyroid condition during treatment and possibly a different dose of levothyroxine or maybe there is an alternative drug you could use that wouldn’t interact? But you need advice from a doctor.

    Hi G1,

Of course you’re welcome here and we look forward to hearing your progress (& pix of the railroad car    ) and just ask if you have any questions, that’s how we all learn more and share that knowledge. :+1:

As you are on daclatasvir/Daklinza which can interact with some foods here are a couple of dietary warnings you should be aware of:

    https://fixhepc.com/forum/drug-interactions/611-cyp3a4-inhibitors-and-daclatasvir-fruits.html?limitstart=0

    https://fixhepc.com/forum/drug-interactions/108-daclatasvir-warning-interactions-cyp3a4.html

For other drug interactions you and your doctor can use the Liverpool University interactions tool below, just select Daclatasvir + Sofosbuvir in the first column and then any medications you use in the second column::

I ran into similar issues with my sig, it seems that Kunena based forums have a default 300 character limit including spaces for the signature panel.
