If I recall correctly you did a 24 week course of meds? so maybe due to that it may take your body a little longer to get firing on all 6 cylinders again. As for the sore muscles I can tell you that magnesium works small wonders. I used to do a lot of competitive swimming and running – on the days when I had a hard core training session I would take a couple of mag tablets a couple of hours before bed and found the next day that the muscle pain was more bearable.

29 April 2016 at 5:18 am #16327Both ezetimbe and simvastatin can cause myopathy and myalgia (sore muscles). Getting your CK (creatine kinase) enzyme checked via a blood test would be a good idea. If it is elevated consider stopping one.
YMMV
29 April 2016 at 5:47 am #16329I must be one of the lucky ones. I have more energy, brain is sharper and I’m feeling braver. Swimming faster, feeling stronger. Definitely firing on more cylinders. Today is the last day of week 6 so all this might change. Felt a bit tired this week but maybe that’s because I didn’t have my customary Nana nap on any of the weekend days and was quite busy. 3 Yoga classes a week is helping me for sure and I do supported inversions most days.

Thanks Dr James,
I will get a CK enzyme blood test done & if elevated, I will stop the Ezetimbe .
I was thinking about going off all meds for a month & see how I feel.
But as all these meds I was prescribed after I had my stroke 3 years ago.

The statin at low dose should be continued for it’s anti-stroke effects. Keeping you blood pressure under control and using antiplatelet therapy like aspirin also helps.

Dr James, below are the blood tests I had yesterday.
The good news is that my muscle aches & pains are getting less.
My wife & I just returned from a 7 day self drive holiday in NZ, where I did lots of walking tracks.
To my surprise my muscles started to ache but I just kept on pushing on & the pain got less.

3 September 2016 at 4:45 pm #227833 weeks into ledipasvir and sofosbuvir ( Hepcinat LP )
I’m experiencing increased
Fatigue
Irritability
Indigestion
Intermittent muscle, oral, and liver pains
coughing due to excess mucus production
headaches
stiff & crackly jointsall are welcome.
This means the medication is working and is killing the virus.
I can put up with it for another 9 ( hopefully ) weeks…
49 years hosting this virus is plenty.
6 September 2016 at 5:55 pm #22819Hi Claudel I am four weeks after EOT today but can recognize some of those sides while on generic harvoni. One of the things that helped me a lot to keep them at bay was to drink 64 ounces (2 litters) of fluids a day and avoid heavy foods (we usually know what they are! illy:' /> ). But keeping well hydrated seemed to do the trick for me specially for headaches! Best of luck, it might be that like me and others you also get to experience a sort of ” high” from the DAAs and enjoy a great surge of energy for few weeks. It happened to me during weeks 3, 4 and 5!

6 September 2016 at 6:32 pm #22820Hi Meg
None of the sides are anything more than annoying to me at this point ( 58 more pills to go… )
I’m having way less distress than I did with interferon/ribavarin.
I got an energy boost right when I started taking it that lasted a week or so before I started getting a variety of extra symptoms.
I’ve been drinking lots of water and avoiding foods I’ve found to be problematic in the past.
At the moment indigestion is the worst of it for me and I don’t want to take anything for it that might interfere with the antivirals.
I can tolerate it, I’m almost 1/3 done.
I’m just going to take it easy until I take all the medicine.
Thanks…
