Hi everyone
I think we should be concentrating on existing supply chains and of course emerging ones.
However making guesses on whether a snapshot of random product is legitimate or otherwise could be misleading for desperate folk. In the absence distributors comment and guarantee along with other evidence we need to be careful. Just saying. Em

I wasn’t questioning the validity of the planned generic drugs that are about to come out of India, it was more to do with random pictures which none of us can verify 100% without additional evidence. Em
8 December 2015 at 9:51 pm #5560HYDERABAD, DEC 8:
Generic pharmaceuticals and anti retroviral drug manufacturer Hetero has received approval for the fixed dose combination drug Ledipasvir sofosbuvir from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).The drug, Ledisof, is a generic version of Gilead Sciences’ brand Harvoni which is approved by the US FDA.
The Hyderabad based Hetero had singed a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Gilead in September last year to manufacture and market the drug indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C and is the first company to receive DCGI approval for this category of drug.
“We are happy to extend the fixed dose combination therapy Ledipasvir sofosbuvir (Ledisof) to Indian patients which is much more effective than Sofosbuvir,’’ B P S Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Hetero said in a release issued here on Monday.
Hepatitis C is a growing health concern in many developing countries including India which is estimated to have about 12 to 18 million people infected with hepatitis C.

16.08.2016 SVR 248 December 2015 at 10:12 pm #5561Hetero is a reputable company. Hetero has revenues over $1 billion and reported a profit of $100 million in last fiscal year. I really dont understand these doctors who dont believe in these big companies.

I am not sure it is because the doctors don’t rate the companies involved. After all, the UK NHS uses generics from these companies for about 40% of their scripts I believe. They wouldn’t do that if they thought the companies were rubbish.
So go figure.

8 December 2015 at 10:50 pm #5567Considering that Gilead takes the APIs from Jordan, I would say that Ledifos is original and Harvoni is generic

It says on Ledifos bottle that it is only for sale in India, so the same as Ledisof (for Indian patients only) – so really don’t understand why hetero now needs two different brand names for the same product to be manufactured for Indian patients only…?
Lisof is for Nepali market only…12 December 2015 at 7:23 pm #6087One more time is Ledifos, not Ledisof

It is certainly a typo.13 December 2015 at 11:33 am #6136I just received a reply from a pharmacy in India that they can now ship to me Ledifos. The price is $395 USD. The company does business as Medsure (http://www.medsure.in/about-us.html) as well as New Global Enterprises. The fellow in charge is: Vivek Ramteke (91-909684376. I don’t understand how he can ship now as I have not heard yet that the generics can be sold in India. Has anyone heard of Vivek Ramteka?
