22 June 2016 at 6:24 am #19698Thank you everyone!!
When I first consulted with my gastroenterologist here I already had the DAAs in my hands which made him smile Very big! He was quite surprised actually and immediately asked me for the “booklet” that comes along with the meds to research SAFINO L on line. Then he told me OKAY, let´s do it and gave me blood tests prescriptions for 4 weeks after starting tx to which I replied nuh.. I am so curious to find these pills are working I am going to the lab after two weeks only – and so I did last Saturday – June 18th. Now I can’t wait to go back to my second appointment with the results in hand – although I already called his office the minute I found out the awesome news- to let them know that they could check it on line. By the way depending on the labs here – patients have the right to access their bloods (even before the doctors) with our username and password.

22 June 2016 at 9:33 am #19721Congrats Meg!!! Two weeks is very fast!
And I have to ask, because the names are new to me … I’ve never heard of Uth Healthcare or Safino L before.
Does the box indicate the suggested price and the manufacturer? Is this targeted for some specific region?I’m assuming you got it through MonkMed.
And just to let all the newer members know … it’s here in the forum somewhere … but back in the early stages of REDEMPTION 1 James wanted to test either Corevigen or Darvoni (don’t remember off hand) and was checking on RVR (Rapid Virologic Response?) and as such had some people do one week of the new combo and then test. It sticks in my mind that a couple people got UND and I think one got there in 6 days. I’ll have to try searching for it later.
But still, most people are very happy to get there in 4 weeks … I didn’t test until 6 weeks.
So again, congratulations. I’m happy for you.

SAFINO L is a generic Harvoni (Sof/Led) made in India by a lab called HETERO. It was sent to me by Greg Jefferys. I think it targets India but anyone can go to India and consult with a doctor there or have it send to us by providing bloods, fibroscan, doctor’s prescription.
I did not see a suggested price on the label but it is about the same price as Redemption sources tx for 12 weeks.
Wondering why some people respond in two week only. (rapid virological response) while others with exact the same conditions don’t. Is it the immune system? My lay assumption is that perhaps many people (with similar conditions as me) would respond after just 2 weeks too – but since they don’t test until 4 weeks after starting tx so they don’t actually know they are already undetectable!

22 June 2016 at 6:41 pm #19769In the graph below you will see all the results for patients on generics. The lines are the average and the size of the dot is relative to the log of the number of people with that viral load.
YMMV
22 June 2016 at 7:27 pm #19771Dear Meg,
Congratulations! Great news and all the best for treatment completion!.
Needed a favor, could you please double check Safino L bottles says ‘manufactured’ from Hetero? And also if its ‘marketed’ by some other company? That will greatly help everyone in the forum and also us . We get a lot of questions around brand names and product packaging descriptons. Thanks for your kind help in this regard.
We work very closely with Hetero and have not heard of Safino L. Also double checked with Area Sales Manager of Hetero and they are not aware. Its late evening in India and we will call Sales Head tomorrow to be 100% sure. Also UTH which goes by name Emcure does not have Hep C medications as far as we know and their website
http://www.emcure.co.in/products_Pharma.asp
Its possible they have launched it recently we would like to know about it so that we can keep people informed.
For everyone’s general information, Hetero Sof+Led brand when launched was called LediSOF in some markets and LediFOS in some other. That caused a lot of confusion and concern about fake drugs. Also they changed the packaging in 3 months of launch adding to more confusion. In the end Hetero sent out a public apology and corrected the name to LediFOS. Its the name that was approved by DCGI(Drug Controller General of India). Here is the link.

22 June 2016 at 10:35 pm #19777Thank you for the warm wishes Monkmed.
Yes on the bottle it says:
Manufactured by: Hetero Labs LImited (Unit II)
I don’t see the name of any other company on it except that it has a “UTH health” care logo.I believe they have just launched SAFINO L very recently.
Hope this helps!

22 June 2016 at 11:06 pm #19780Dear Meg,
You are most welcome and many thanks for clarifying.
You are absolutely right. We also just heard back from UTH and they very recently launched into the Hepatology segment and the product is with very few stockists.
Attached is the flyer so that people can match the box if they are getting Safino L.
Below is the link from UTH .

23 June 2016 at 6:32 am #19805Hi Meg
You knocked out HCV RNA in the second round. Some have had first round knock-outs. It depends on how quick refs are prepared to give standing 10 counts. In any case, you’ve won the first fight and I just wanted to make you feel like a winner and give you confidence, just in case HCV demands a re-match.
I used poetic licence of hyperbole & alliteration when congratulating you on being undetected. In hindsight, I probably didn’t need to do it as your positivity bounces off your posts. Keep it up.
I’ll try to stick to the facts from now on.
Cheers
