Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC13 December 2015 at 3:24 pm #6159Not yet … that I know of … just getting the thread ready. The bigger issue is finding the trustworthy distributors. Haven’t got that yet either. I’m going to have to do some digging.
15 December 2015 at 1:24 pm #6342Natco Pharma Limited (NSE: NATCOPHARM; BSE: 524816) announced today that it is the 1st company in India to get approval for generic Daclatasvir Dihydrochloride (“Daclatasvir”) tablets, 30mg & 60mg, from Drugs Controller General (India). Daclatasvir is the first-in-class NS5A inhibitor used in combination with Sofosbuvir for the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 3 infection. Compared to other treatment options, this combination not only increases the cure rate, but is also regarded as a valuable treatment option in some of the difficult-to-treat HCV patient subsets.
Natco will market generic Daclatasvir under its own brand NATDAC, and through its strategic partners in India. Natco will launch Immediately in India at an MRP of Rs.6000/-(Rupees Six thousand only) and Rs.4000/- (Rupees Four Thousand only) for the 60mg and 30mg strengths, respectively, for a bottle of 28 tablets.

I wonder why they aren’t willing to say “pan-genotypic”? Scared they’ll not sell off their Led?
15 December 2015 at 2:29 pm #6351Wonder if Doc James could enlighten us on the reasoning behind producing 30mg Dac tablets when he’s got a minute?

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC17 December 2015 at 2:13 am #6486Without wanting to second guess the Doc on this. Because of the large group of inhibitor and inducer chemicals that effect Dac, the 30mg allows doses of 30 or 90mg if you also have to take a medication that effects the efficiency of Dac. I’m pretty sure that otherwise the dose remains 60mg for a wide weight range although someone less than half the standard weight may be considered for a 30mg tab. Eg if you only weighed 30kg or so.

17 December 2015 at 2:33 am #6487The issue of bodyweight > Dac dosage has been discussed a bit…far as I’m aware 60mg is still the recommended dosage across all general weight-ranges (I fall on about the 50kg line, and although I’m expecting increased sides don’t plan on dosage adjustment)
You might have a point on those of very low weight, Enkel…though 30kg/around 4 1/2 stone would be likely talking pediatric doses at that weight range.

Yes, I was also thinking along the lines of pediatrics or similar. Should have highlited the “may” and ” considered” in my post and added “on medical advice”.
