Thank you Dr. James31 December 2015 at 5:17 am #7603Hi Sonix Thanks for posting all the info. Iam also 1a 30 plus years. Can I ask why you decided on sof/dac and not sof/led ? Cheers, and Happy new year. Jill
Geno1a 35years fibrosis 2 or 3 different results from different hospitals ??
24weeks mesochem sof/led as unsure of fibrosis status.
currently UND. No bad side effects
Have svr12 … waiting for svr 24
I now have SVR 36 weeks.31 December 2015 at 5:25 am #7604Did you need a script for that?
31 December 2015 at 5:43 am #7605Hi Sonic I live in Bendigo and can relate to the hot weather Phewww
I am in week seven on Sof/Led and also have the insomnia and still do but sleeping a bit longer than when I first started. I take my meds at around 8.30pm and find now that I am not tired in the mornings when I get up (work full time) and energy levels improving also. I turned 60 this year and have no idea when, where or how long I have had the virus but I am forever grateful for Dr Freeman and the Buyers Club for the opportunity to be able to take my meds now rather than waiting for an appt at the Liver Clinic at the Base Hospital here (10 months and counting so far)! My four week blood tests came back HCV undetectable
Have a great New Year and I look forward to hearing your results.
Cheers Lynne
YMMV

Partly because of the $700 price difference, but confirmed by Dr James that Sof/Dac should be at least as effective as Sof/Led, and possibly better but trials have been small so far.
And yes, you need a script.Happy New Year to all!

SueHealth31 December 2015 at 9:17 am #7612Hey sonix, good to hear your story and great news that you’re handling tx so well and seeing those improvements. I’m also 1a (27 yrs) and have had all those hep symptoms, complicated by hormonal problems and chronic pain (plus recently an at least semi-failed shoulder op) Awesome that so many have been relieved for you.
I will be on sof/dac as well from tomorrow, Dr J’s rationale was the same he as advised you – could well be better than Led due to a slightly higher logkill ratio (albeit small trial sample as you say)
All the best for the rest of your treatment, and wishing everyone here a great start to a healthy new year. We couldn’t have been given a better chance

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC7 January 2016 at 5:10 am #8212Three weeks down, nine to go. I still feel a bit fuzzy in the mornings but generally more clear headed and energetic. I swim 3-4 times a week and have done 600 metres almost non-stop! Previously that would have been a struggle and would need a few rest breaks to swim that far.
Still have that speedy feeling but not quite as intense. Sleep is still less than I’d like, average about 6 hours with intermittent waking some nights but not all. I sometimes try for a siesta but usually doesn’t work. Occasionally I will have 10-15mg oxazepam or a couple of puffs of pot to ensure sleep if I have a big day ahead. Pot is actually better for this as the oxazepam seems to take longer to wake up and clear the brain the next morning.
I’m not noticing much difference in the other symptoms originally posted. Skin is still prickly, seborrheic dermatitis unimproved, although my general mood is better overall. We had another heatwave in Melbourne just before New Year which knocked me around as usual, and I think I slept badly on New Years Eve causing subluxation in my neck but that’s from the osteoarthritis/fibromyalgia which is likely not completely HCV related. And my osteopath is on holiday till next week.TL;DR – Some great improvements but still not 100% healthy.
Looking positively to the future, 4 week blood tests next week..
