Hi, your prescribing doctor will need to know your genotype, whether you have treated before, your level of fibrosis and any other drugs you might be taking.

When I got my drugs through here, sofosbuvir and ledipasvir were supplied in separate capsules and as far as I know they still are, although there are many combo generics also available. Harvoni is the official name for Gilead’s mixture.

So your script needs to read something like this:
“Sofosbuvir Powder 400mg, 1 oral daily, quantity 36g, no repeats
Ledipasvir Powder, 90mg, 1 oral daily, quantity 8.1g, no repeats.’

See also GP cheat sheet under `Forum’

Yes he sees patients and you will see appointment slots appear later. In the meantime you can try to chat with him, he is online now, and/or call the number at top left of the page during Hobart office hours.

Hello Honker, a tourist visa will do fine. Australia lets anyone see a doctor but of course you won’t get any subsidy.
About your query about a doctor, I am confused; you are coming to Hobart for treatment because Buyers Club is based there, right? And you know Dr Freeman runs it right?
Also, while Tasmania is a great place, you don’t need to stay there the whole course of treatment, why not take your meds back home?

You don’t have to put anything in capsules, all batches are tested and the answers to most of your other questions are on here. If you go to Getting Treated section above and click through to Buyers Club, there is a lot of detail. Not sure about future resistance.
(I am genotype 1a, never treated before, now treating with generic Sofosbuvir/Ledipasvir for a month so far with few side effects.)
I recommend reading as much on here as you can here and also Greg Jefferys site at http://hepatitisctreatment.homestead.com/index.html

I just watched the Sunrise report and I think it was outstanding in covering the basics – 90-plus per cent cure at a fraction of the Gilead price, 100 per cent pure and legal, who with Hep C would not want that? Dr Freeman and Greg are so obviously credible.
I hope it encourages more fence-sitters to seek treatment.

Much as I would like NZ to fund meds for all its Hep C patients – and Australia’s while we are at it, it has been assumed that any Pharmac funding would be `sickest first,’ otherwise the financial strain would be great. I will wait for a formal announcement on this $125 per week rumour from a chemist and doctor.

You are in the right place for advice, it is a genuine site to help cure Hep C. For an ASAP cure, read everything on here about getting treated and plan a trip to Australia to pick up your meds. If you have never treated before the meds cost A$2300 approx. This site runs a Buyers Club which I used and there are also chemists offering the required meds for the same price. Other people have couriered to the US but this has suddenly become harder.

Sorry to hear about the shabby treatment of some posters at medhelp, but if they are so anti-generics, how has the thread below survived?

I have been following it for a while and there does seem a fair bit of culling of posts happening, but contact details keep reappearing.

Henry, people are flying to Dhaka and buying Twinvir (generic Harvoni) from Incepta. Some Americans on here have imported/carried back their cures. Please see US Importation legal or not.
It’s all on here and at Greg Jefferys’ site at http://hepatitisctreatment.homestead.com/index.html
Once you commit to treating yourself, I think you will work it out.

Hi Lynne, the GP Cheatsheet under the Forum heading at the top of the page describes Monitoring and I assume 4/52 means the 4-week point. Your GP will probably understand it, But maybe the GP’s query is on the type of viral load test? I am on the same drugs as you and my hep nurse has ordered a `PCR viral load’ test at the four-week mark. I hope this helps.

Greg Jefferys covers imports to the UK in depth at http://hepatitisctreatment.homestead.com/twinvir-bangladesh.html

For example on 29th October 2015:

“UK Generic Hep C Medicines Importation Breakthrough
Wow this is BIG… Hep C patients in Britain DO NOT need a prescription from their doctor to import generic Hep C meds for personal use into the UK….
