Just catching up on your latest adventures Barry. Talk about running the gauntlet but you keep throwing yourself over those hurdles (apologies for mixed metaphors). Good to hear you are out of hospital. Take it easy olm8 (tks for my new word).
Now that’s the sort of news we like to hear. Congratulations Tatty.
Hi Paul,
Is that 18 weeks for you already? Good to hear that your sleeping patterns are settling down. The insomnia seems to be easing a bit for me as well. I certainly caught up on some of my reading!!
Keep well and let us know when you hit the magic 24.

Hi Edge – good to hear from you.
Not so long to go now until you finish your treatment. I relapsed (on the DAAs) and finished my second round of treatment nearly 6 weeks ago. Things feel pretty good so far.
I think I also had every sleeping pattern during the treatment. Good sleep then falling asleep easily and waking at 3 am, then not falling asleep etc. etc. It certainly does sap your energy during the day.
Since finishing treatment I’ve had quite noticeable insomnia (can’t fall asleep until the wee hours of the morning). I’m hoping it’s a passing phase but I’ll take that over the virus any day!
Good luck – those last few week will fly by.

Hi Cameralady and Welcome,
You are nearly 2 weeks in now so your treatment is well underway and you’re just that bit closer to being HepC free. Yay!
I’m so pleased that you have good people in your corner. All kudos to your lead nurse.During my treatment I found that my energy levels went up and down and some of this is probably due to the normal fluctuations
that everyone experiences. I think that having Hep C and then having the treatment makes us super tuned in to our physical and emotional selves.I really noticed the difference when the virus cleared. I felt like a dark cloud had lifted and I just felt more energetic and lighter in mood but I still had low energy days. I followed all of the good advice here and tried to be kind to myself.
Looking forward to seeing your updates.

Hello and thanks so much Archer, Peach and Fara,
Peach – last time I didn’t check until nearly week 11 by which time it was well and truly back so this time I’m going to be kinder to myself and will check earlier. Time goes so fast though that I’m nearly at week 4 now so better get moving!
Hi Keith,
Sorry to hear about your relapse (I know how you feel) but good to hear you are continuing the fight. From Dr F’s response it sounds like you are well placed to finally kick this with some additional treatment. Good luck.
Hi UK_Hopeful,
I’m so happy to hear about your mother. Well done to both of you – you fought it together and won.
Best wishes for the future.Hello Dan and thanks for sharing your good news. Congratulations!

The stigma of this disease can be such a burden and I can relate to the stress placed on people in healthcare and similar industries. Well done you for taking control and starting treatment. Good luck – things are lined up for a great outcome for you.
Hi hepCat,
I’m really sorry to hear about your relapse. There are a few of us here that know exactly how you feel. Like you I was disappointed and also quite sad as I had so looked forward to experiencing a HepC free life after so many years of dragging the baggage around with me. I also did the guilt thing about “what did I do to stuff it up”. which is understandable but not useful.
I can see though that you’re working your way through it and despite the frustration of “why” you’re looking forward. I’ve now completed another treatment and am sitting in the waiting room again. My second round included one of the big guns Ribavirin and the virus fled very early in my treatment which was a good sign. I don’t doubt that this will be the same for you.
Good luck with your next steps.

Hi Jorge,
Like LG I’m also a tricky 1a who is currently undetected after finishing treatment a few weeks ago. It is a bit of a roller coaster so be kind to yourself because it seems to be about good days and bad days but soon the good will outweigh the bad. Clearing the virus has certainly made an enormous impact on my emotional and physical well being so hang in there.
Everyone says it but rehydration really does make a difference.
Cheers
CoralHi Hope. It’s great to hear your good news – another success story.
Thanks for the good wishes Gaj. There’s nothing quite like a happy spleen! I’ll delete some words from my signature to fit in the good news instead.
Hi LG – I’m now officially back in the waiting room! I trust all is going well for you too. I’m sending good wishes back across the ocean to you.
