Hi Stew welcome to the forum another Westy like me. I hope it all goes well for you on treatment and if you have any issues don’t hesitate to ask here but for the most part treatment on the orals is relatively smooth sailing.
Enjoy the ride.

24 wks SVR yeeaa!!12 January 2016 at 7:56 am #8752I was told I could take Nexium as long as I took it at the same time as I took the generic Harvoni. I was advised not to take Ursodeoxycholic Acid if possible as interaction is unknown, however my bile reflux is at a stage where it comes 1st in order of treatment.
I’ll probably have bloods done after my 2nd week to see if the generic harvoni is working and if I need to drop the nexium which I maybe able to do as its only good for acid reflux – not so much my main problem – bile reflux.Proton-pump inhibitor doses comparable to omeprazole 20 mg or lower can be administered simultaneously with HARVONI under fasted conditions – Gilead

13 January 2016 at 7:59 pm #8984I took nexium all the way through treatment when ever I felt like it I don’t recall anyone saying
it had to be taken at the same time it had no impact on my outcome.Any research I have seen suggests there is no contradiction between them at least none I am
aware of.

stewart.henstock@hotmail.com14 January 2016 at 2:59 am #9017I just started Tx yesterday Sof/Dac and have been taking Nexium for a couple of years +. I told the Doc my list of meds when we had our consult and he said everything was fine. I take Nexium as soon as I wake because it’s meant to be 1 hr before I eat. I took the Sof/Dac within around 1/2 hr after Nexium yesterday and today. Seems fine so far.
Good Luck Stew

stewart.henstock@hotmail.com19 January 2016 at 2:02 am #9708Week 3 has arrived – so far – so good.
I stopped taking Nexium after the 1st week as I was diagnosed with bile reflux – not acid reflux so my GP put me on Ursodeoxycholic acid – for the treatment of bile reflux gastritis. It seems to be working except I still wake around 2am with fevers, burning sensations, sweats and heart palpitation. My GP is not sure whether its due to bile reflux, hep C or ulcerative colitis. My GP suggested increasing the Ursodeoxycholic acid to see if it helps any.
Off to the liver clinic tomorrow for my first visit since starting treatment.

stewart.henstock@hotmail.com25 January 2016 at 8:28 am #10358Three weeks in and I have my LFT’s. It seems generic harvoni is working.
Before GGT227
Now GGT 88
Before AST 79
Now AST 20
Before ALT 89
Now ALT 12
So there has been a significant improvement in my liver enzymes. This hopefully will prevent further cirrhosis of my liver.
Still feel lousy and wake every night with fevers, heart palpitations, sweats and abdo pain, although not as bad as before. I guess these could be contributed to other problems I have caused by cirrhosis of the liver.
