16.08.2016 SVR 2414 January 2016 at 2:05 pm #9095yes darbara, i landed in Mumbai last night. staying in a hotel in south mumbai area called colaba , about 45 minutes drive from the International Airport. Contacted Mr. Jain from Bull pharma and visited their office, but they are an online pharmacy with their storages on the outskirts of the city, hence i was told the bottles will be delivered in an hour to my hotel. The office is in a busy area in a crowded lane. WIthin an hour Mr. Jain was at my hotel with 3 bottles of Ledifos the retail price as mentioned on the box is INR 75000 for 3 bottles, i was offered a discount of 10% and hence paid a round amount of INR 67000. The entire process took hardly 10 minutes where i verified the medicines quality certificate and their instructions to use certificate which is in the bottle itself. He explained me more about the pharma market and about the places in Mumbai. I know the prices could be slightly lesser, but reliability seemed important and i was offered good discount so i was happy. I am flying back to Ukraine on the 17th and if there is anyone else on this forum who wants to know more can write to me without any hesitation.

This is the best street price in India.
If you see someone in India offering medication online below this price, and also including shipping (worth $80-100 USD via Fedex), you should read this:
IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT ALMOST CERTAINLY IS.
Please read what Greg Jefferys has to say about this:
http://blogs.hepmag.com/gregjefferys/2016/01/hepatitis_c_treatmen_21.html
Anything (Harvoni generic) out of India for much less than $1200 USD should be viewed with skepticism.
Anything below $1000 USD is unrealistic and likely to end in tears.
YMMV
14 January 2016 at 5:06 pm #9114Interesting post by Greg http://blogs.hepmag.com/gregjefferys/2016/01/hepatitis_c_treatmen_21.html for all the folks out there in the USA. Also speaking of the supplier which a lot of this forum members seem to recommend.

If someone is offering medications without prescription don’t buy. All manufacturers require prescription on file so the medication will be of dubious quality/stolen. The correct way to buy medicines is walk in with a prescription into a reputed pharmacy and get the meds. That way pharmacies are not getting time to source ‘fake’ meds for foreigners who would travel back and wont be able to take any action unlike the locals. Delivering to a hotel to a foreigner is one of the oldest scam routes for not only meds but other goods.
There is one more challenge in India. There are half pills in the market. 50% pill rest is sawdust in identical packaging. So results will be 50% and people wont guess the pills are half fake.
Also no pharmacy in India can charge more the MRP(Maximum Retail Price) which in this case is 25000INR per bottle or when converted is 1114USD for 3 bottles. Its plain illegal and if reported leads to immediate cancellation of license. Most large reputed pharmacies will automatically give a discount without asking if u walk in because its standard policy. You can tell a reputed pharmacy from its size and number of people buying from it during evening hours after work. They will not be selling meds online because they have enough business already and don’t want the overhead of export license. If you have made up your mind to travel to India and need help buying genuine medicines & Indian prescription please let us know at care@monkmed.com and we will help you connected with reputed pharmacies.
Again donot buy from someone who will sell without prescription. It just means the meds did not come from the right source.
Warm Regards,
MonkMed Care Team15 January 2016 at 4:57 am #9168Dear Geno1b4,

Mumbai is very pleasant at this time of the year. Ensure you only drink bottled water and try to avoid street food as they can be hard on the stomach. We would like to welcome you before everyone to India! Do let us know if you need any help/advice while you are in India including getting genuine medicines.
Warm regards,
MonkMed Care Team!15 January 2016 at 8:42 am #9198I was clearly told by Greg before traveling to India that when you buy locally in India a prescription may not be required because a prescription from a foreign doctor would anyway not make sense for these distributors and that they can arrange a prescription from the local doctor. There are a lot of online pharmacies delivering at your doorstep like netmeds.com , pharmeasy, 1 mg and a few others in India which are selling 100% genuine medicines with the right price. I have had the first hand experience of dealing with the Indian pharmacies and distributors. So it is completely genuine to get the Meds delivered to you at your doorstep, unless one distributor is trying to defame the other one with wrong marketing practices.

Netmeds, Zigy, Pharmeasy are VC funded online marketplaces for meds not online pharmacies and none will go to a hotel to deliver meds unless an Indian doctor prescription is uploaded on their website post which they run a series of checks using their patented technology on the doctor and prescription validity before shipping the meds. In my case they always call my doctor to verify..They will also not deliver to a non Indian citizen.
I wonder how you got the meds without seeing any Indian doctor. As much there is fraud in this country we don’t want foreigners to come here based on some online advice from another foreigner and get duped and tan our reputation. Already am hearing bad things about how Taj pharmacy has taken money and not delivered medicines.
15 January 2016 at 11:24 am #9215I think you are a bit late to the party Abal, the Hepc generic sourcing from India is a path thats been trodden quite a few times now.
