    @gaj

Been trying to write this for hours without getting anywhere…..so here goes.

22 months ago I discovered FixHepC and was able to source generic DAAs to hopefully cure the HCV I had carried around for two thirds of my life, so I commenced a 24 week treatment due to cirrhosis and previous relapse. Unfortunately, as some will be aware, I was one of the small percentage that relapse post treatment. But thankfully the medications had reduced the virus to undetectable levels while using them which gave my liver a period of respite and significantly improved my physical and emotional health and resolved a lot of symptoms that I always thought due to age, etc.
Knowing that wouldn’t last without SVR, at the start of this year I commenced my latest retreatment although I couldn’t bring myself to blog this here, possibly out fear of yet another relapse? or just silly superstition? Anyway it has been a long and somewhat delayed journey for me but today as I quietly held my breath my specialist informed me that my SVR12 results were.UNDETECTED.

What a wonderful feeling of calm……..and such elation at the same time!

A huge thank you to Dr Freeman and the rest of the FixHepC team not only for assisting me but also for their vision, care and most importantly for taking action to enable people around the world to access affordable HCV treatment. This one’s for you.

I may not post often, but Gaj, you have offered so much to all of us. I have followed you since I first found fixhepc and your posts contributed to my making the decision to order my “cure” from Doc Freeman.

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Gaj,

WOW, this is an excellent news, I am so happy for you! #woohoo!
Congratulations for this wonderful result and for having continued the fight! You are a winner!

Sometimes I have the feeling that we, the generic rebels, are somehow alone on this planet, so here is a funny video where the word “Eurovision” should be replaced with “against HCV” :)

You might want to look at 1m35sec at the “victory dance” :D :D :D

    Cheers,

Best news to wake up to Gaj. We were treating at the same time last year- I knew this time it would be celebration for you- but I am an optimist. I know it’s not over, until it is, and now- after all those years, it really is over.
And thank you so much for all your calm, wise kindness to all here, while you fought that dragon. #magic#

    Woohoo Gaj!
I am thrilled to hear this news. It’s especially good to see another HepCer defeat the virus at second go.

You’re one of the stalwart defenders of this forum against the bleakness that sometime threatens to swamp some of us. It is so heartening to see you doing well now. Congratulations

    Re_roll,

Unfortunately I’ll need to skip the Scotch (and the wine :(). My liver was rather tattered when I arrived so for now my drink of choice(?) is Soda with a twist of lemon. But have one for me. :cheer:
