Ok. I’ve set a forum up more as a backup to this place than anything else. Should something happen to the fixhepc forum (and make no mistake: Big Pharma will be trying to make something happen to it) we will have somewhere to re-group. The people managing this resource will be welcome to the same management access to my new forum. In fact, being the tech neanderthal that I am, I’d appreciate the help/guidance.

    At the moment it’s here:

    http://killthedragon.freeforums.net/

But if it starts getting traffic, I’m going to move it behind a premium secure server, where it will be found under this domain name:

    http://www.killthedragon.co.uk

It’s impossible for me not become politicised, as I continue to learn more about the bully Phama’s the Governments and the mess we’re in.
I’m currently reading as much as I can about civilians vs the Pharma companies. It’s Scary. I read John La Carre’ ‘The Constant Gardener 10 years ago and was horrified by the terrorism that these Companies wage upon the vulnerable.

*What about an online campaign hosted by “The Sum Of Us” or “Change” does anyone have any experience with any of this??
I can investigate what is necessary to get it kickstarted.

I’ve got insurance in US but and I’m high end of F2, almost F3 and 65 and bastards want me to get sicker before they say MAYBE they will let me have medicine, Insurance company is definitely betting on the statistics that people like me will die before they have to pay for the meds.

Hi 2B, we were talking bringing meds into US.- It dawned on me that probly you and certainly I have gotten generic Viagra or Cialis online (course it was for someone else). Generic Viagra will not be legal for 5 more years! There is probly more Gen. than brand Viagra sold in US. Order it and comes in the mail. It is supposed to require a script. Is EXACTLY the same as as bringing in Sof-Dac.Is a nice thought.

It could work but as mentioned on our Supply Chain Integrity page the problem is that according to Forbes Up To 77 Percent Of Viagra Bought Online May Be Fake, And Possibly Dangerous, Research Shows

Now that study was funded by Pfizer (who make Viagra) but you would have to be a rampant optimist to expect all mail order DAAs to be the real deal. The financial incentives to sell fakes are just way too strong.

    YMMV

I totally agree with you Dr. It is important to be as well informed as possible. I believe the Buyers Club has an excellent supply chain and is proven. .I am curious what would be necessary to obtain these meds from the buyers club into the US? Mesochem turned out to become a proven source but there certainly are scams out there. I guess what I was saying is that having merchandise mailed into the US may not be the risk I feared it is..Both the phonies and the true do find their way in without much trouble. The buyers Club is premium as it is a proven route to go, is a God send to very many just as you are for making things happen. Thank you again Dr. Freeman! .

    Hi Vicki,

Change.org had a petition targeting Gilead from a US perspective over a year ago, with close to 50,000 signatures:
    https://www.change.org/p/gilead-sciences-make-cure-for-hepatitis-c-affordable-for-the-world?recruiter=29648901&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink#petition-letter

And another from the Hep C Coalitian:
    http://www.petitionbuzz.com/PETITIONS/HEPC

And one mentioned on Greg Jeffery’s blog:
    https://www.change.org/p/hon-susan-ley-prime-minister-malcolm-turnbull-help-sufferers-of-viral-hepatitis

There are several others (including Avaaz) but they are out of date or focused on a particular country (like Canada or Mexico).

I think it’s an issue that needs to be international, and target not just Gilead but all those involved in regulating pharmaceutical companies.

The Trans Pacific Partnership currently under discussion favours Big Pharma, and getup.org has a petition opposing that:

    Thanks Joy,
That’s very informative. I’m aware that The TTP is going to make Pharmaceuticals more expensive. I have signed and shard the Getup campaign.
    Best wishes

    Today’s ABC news:

“A dispute between Australia and the US over patent protections for pharmaceuticals is holding up the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Negotiations between the 12 countries in the US city of Atlanta have been extended for an extra day, as the US seeks to increase the length of time patents for new biologic drugs are protected.

The move is being resisted by Australia and Japan.”
