16.08.2016 SVR 2425 December 2015 at 2:33 pm #7277You should see a doctor about the ankle swelling.
I have a handful of patients who have developed fluid retention on treatment initiation.
It can be treated with diuretics but should not be ignored. It can progress to ascites.
Please check in with a doctor.
YMMV
25 December 2015 at 4:10 pm #7285Yes Darbara, you should check with a doctor.
Indeed, Twinvir affected my sleep only the first day, then the sleep has been ok

For the past couple of days I’ve had lots of cakes and biscuits. I hope that it won’t have a negative impact bon my tx.
I wanted to check, why do we need to take the tablets for 12 weeks, if the virus disappears in the blood after 2 weeks?

Scar tissue for instance is hard to get to which is why the longer treatment times for cirhotics and relapsers.
cheers

27 December 2015 at 3:21 am #7353Thanks Paul and Joy.
Dr Freeman explained it very well. I’ll see what my 4 weekly VL result will show after New Year and might order 4 additional weeks, just in case. I have F1-2 fibroscan score and a bit extra treatment will not hurt.

8 weeks UND, 12 week UND, 24 week SVR UND29 December 2015 at 11:51 pm #7497Hi Dan, Was just reading up on some of my blood test results, My serum sodium is slightly out.
Anyway, when you get your blood results back, check that one?
If you have high serum sodium, it can cause dizziness on getting up and is called hypernatremia :
This can be from :
Not drinking enough water and therefore – Dehydration
Eating too much salt
Some drugs
Hyperventilation (breathing too fast)
or a loss of body fluids from prolonged vomiting, diarrhea, sweating or high fevers. You may not have any symptoms, unless your blood sodium levels are significantly elevated, but you could get :
Dizziness when you stand up or change positions (you may be dehydrated).
Severe sweating or fever; vomiting and diarrhea with markedly elevated sodium levels, if your hypernatremia is due to a loss of body fluids.Advise :
Sodium levels must be corrected carefully. If you have a very high sodium level, your healthcare provider will cautiously correct the levels, to a “safe level.”
It is important that you stay well hydrated if blood test results show that you have Hypernatremia. Drink two to three quarts of fluid every 24 hours, unless you are instructed otherwise.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as these can cause you to have electrolyte disturbances.
You may not have Sodium out of balance, but it’s generally handy info anyway I feel .
